Alternative ways to stay active
My daughter is now in the 3rd grade which has been a hard transition for us and as a result, I’ve been printing study materials and practice tests and have been tutoring her a lot to help her. Although I have a gym membership, I usually pick her up from school and go straight home to help her with homework and to study so…

Stupid question about scales
The scale I use at home is a digital scale but nothing fancy. It can measure to the tenth and has memory for recall of 2 people's weights. The scale at the gym is one of those old school mechanical scales you'd see in a doctor's office and for some reason the manual scale always seems to show me as a few pounds heavier…

Anyone have suggestions for getting more protein?
I'm back on my regular workout schedule and wanted to know if anyone has suggestions for getting more protein during the day? I don't seem to get enough. Sugar and salt are never a problem though. :p Thanks

Sliding back into old habits and MFP helps stay on track
This may sound corny but with the holidays and unhealthy foods being served left and right, surfing through the posts of MFP and connecting with my friends helps me stay on track. Just a general shout out to all of you awesome friends that help each other out. Stay healthy during the holidays everyone.

Stress and weight loss
I've lost 31 pounds so far in about a year but lately I've had a ton of outside stress so I've hit a weight loss plateau. I think the primary culprit is stress at work. I find myself mindlessly snacking when I shouldn't. Thankfully my weight has only fluctuated about 5 pounds or so because I workout religiously even if I…

This is a great simple cauliflower recipe
I found this on a recipe website so I can't take credit for it. Wash and cut a head of cauliflower then lightly sprinkle very little sea salt, drizzle a little olive oil over the top then liberally sprinkle smoked (or regular) paprika over the entire thing. I usually add a lot because I love the taste of paprika but you…

What concerns did you have at the start of your weight loss journey?
I'm committed to making my weight loss goals happen. No more excuses but in the back of my mind, I have concerns and I'm sure you guys have heard them before. 1. I'm big boned 2. Everyone in my family is "large" so maybe I'm supposed to be heavy 3. I'm too old to lose weight (44) 4. My metabolism is too slow 5. I'll have…

Motivation to stay on track
Surfing message boards, blogs and communicating with new friends is helping me to stay on track and be mindful of what I'm eating and logging consistently. Anyone else have suggestions for staying on track with MFP?

Excuses, excuses
I love MFP and fell off the wagon about 2 months ago because of the usual (kids, not enough time to workout, forgetting to log in, schedule, work, etc.) but have realized that if I don't get motivated and use tools like MFP, I am condemning myself to health problems down the road. I am committed to sticking to it even if I…

Looking for friends to help motivate...Need to lose 50 pounds!
I'm not really new to this site but I haven't been consistent with logging everything I eat to stay on track. I'm committed to working out every morning for an hour and usually eat relatively healthy foods for breakfast and lunch but I seem to blow it during dinner. My biggest problem is trying to locate home cooking in…
