I logged in everyday for about a month before the scales ever moved. So hang in there. Life happens, just keep going. Keep your head up and the attitude positive. You can do this.

Nothing will be 100% accurate but making yourself aware of how much you are taking in and burning is a key factor. I did compare it to what the treadmill told me and they were very close. So I am guessing it is a safe estimate, but not an exact science.

I started C25k in early July and did my first 5K on Sept. 10th and my second one last weekend. Here is my advice for tackling the hills - look down and focus on the 3-5 steps in front of you, NOT on the hill in front of you, and before you know it the hill will be behind you. Run your race, don't worry about anyone else.…

Chocolate Silk Almond Milk, 1 spoonful of dry butterscotch sugar free pudding mix, and 1/2 package of 100 calorie Chips Ahoy Thin Crisps (and ice)

Before the hysterectomy the only thing that worked for me was Aleve.

Congrats! :flowerforyou:

I've had to learn to plan ahead better. The longer you do it the more you learn and adjust. I know now if I eat too many calories for breakfast that I am going to have to stick with a protein shake or something very low calorie for lunch or vice versa. If I know my dinner is going to be high-calorie I have fruit and yogurt…

Can anyone tell me how you calculate the calories for these recipes? I'd like to try one but I want to know how many calories I am sacrificing first.

I think we are addicted to the motivation and encouragement. Attitudes are contageous and I like the ones on MFP. And it is much better to be on here than in the buffet line.

I've been doing it since January and never thought I could. It has finally become routine but it took a few months for my body to get used to it. I tell people I am allergic to mornings. Having a friend do it with me has helped tremendously. I couldn't have done it without her. She is a morning person and knowing she…

lean1 protein shakes are the best chocolate flavor for me. People who aren't addicts don't understand. Personally, I am in need of a detox. I've had a bad week with my sweet cravings.

My 2 cents...... Don't spend too much time on any one week. Repeats are okay but you might do better on week 5 than you think. Give it a try. I never really felt like I accomplished weeks 8 or 9 like I should have but was signed up for my first 5k and managed to do it anyway. Some days are better than others. Keep pushing…

My husband took it for 6 months and lost about 60 pounds. He took the required 6 months off and gained about 20 back but when he got back on it the second time it messed with his emotions terribly and he had to get back off of it. He became hostile, paranoid, depressed, etc. We aren't sure why it didn't have this effect on…

Just finished C25K and my first official 5K and consider myself their new official postergirl. lol. Personally, I think you would love the program if you like the intervals. Congrats on your NSV!

WOW! I thought I was doing good by running my first 5K ever this past weekend. I need to kick it into overdrive. Congrats! :drinker:

I go to Kroger and buy various flavors of low-cal yogurt then mix my favorite fruits in. This gives me a big variety of flavors. My favorite is the Pina Colada flavored yogurt (80 calories I think) and a banana with ice and about 4 ounces of water. Enjoy.

Go run or do some sort of cardio to earn at least some of the calories back. But get outside, being inside will make the depression worse. I get seasonal depression so I know I have a monster waiting around the corner for me as fall begins. Ugh.

I feel you pain. I had a total melt-down at the doctor's office last week. I've been working out like a mad-woman since January and got on the scale at the doctor's office and had lost ONE measly little bitty pound. My husband went with me just to be an alibi when I told the doctor I had been doing EVERYTHING right for the…

Starting week 9 this week - running my first 5K this Saturday. C25K ROCKS! I have never been able to run to the mailbox and back before this program. Good luck!
-
Good luck! Tomorrow was suppose to be my first 5k (Chick Fil A Labor Day 5K in Memphis) but decided to wait one more week and save the gas and hotel and do one locally. Someone told me - just run YOUR RACE and don't worry about everyone else. :flowerforyou:

AMEN Brother! C25K ROCKS!! I am on week 9 now and signed up for my first 5k on Saturday. I remember struggling through week 1 and thinking I would never do this but I'm doing it. I'm still not the fastest one out there but who cares - I'm doing it!! It has been one more thing on my bucket list that I really wanted to do…

Great book. I've read it too!

I say that is a HUGE NSV. My husband snores and you can't imagine how bad it has kept me from sleeping which results in other issues - irritability, etc. I bought some sleep phones to wear at night and listen to white noise to drown out his snoring. They have been a huge help. So I can say your NSV is probably appreciated…

I tried it and loved it. - chocolate!!!:drinker:

I love the taste - very chocolately! I just finished my first tub. Will buy another one.

I went cold-turkey off Diet Coke and had to use Aleve and Excedrin to get through the headaches. It only took a few days but I've done it. The hard part is staying on the wagon and not reaching for a diet coke now everytime I am sluggish and want a pick me up. Good luck. You can do it.

Same here. Some days I feel like I am starving.
