HI everybody!!! I'm maintaining about 67 of 70 pounds for the last 3.75 years (can't do MF anymore) but I'm keeping that weight off. Hope you are all well. Stay OP this holiday.

Grains (especially wheat) and processed sugars did do me in. For 40 years. I went grain free and mostly processed sugar free post Medifast and I was able put my emotional/binge eating into remission- that took about 1 year or so to work on. I feel like I'm 27 and not 47. So glad I don't eat bread, pasta, and cookies any…

Hello Mjones, I lost 72+ pounds on medifast and I switched off Medifast to Paleo (I read the book Refuse to Regain by Barbara Berkeley). I also realized that I was sensitive to dairy, and I got off soy, too, so I had to transition off MF. In the first 0-5 months or so, my carbs were 100-120 or so. Then, suddenly around…

I was on Meidfast May 2011 to Feb 2012. I've maintained 70+ pounds of the 72 I lost (gained muscle strength recently!). I feel much better at goal weight.

Medifast worked for me for weight loss. Really well. I transitioned over to a Paleo style template for weight maintenance. Also working very well. It's taken me 40 years to get a stable weight. I'm pretty happy right now. I'm almost 47. Glad to have cracked the code.

Oh yes!!! So many times. I've had a better time of weight maintenance by getting the book called Refuse to Regain- by Barbara Berkeley, MD. I worked her "12 rules to keep the body that you've earned". And it's really helped during weight maintenance. It's the ONLY way I've ever been able to maintain- and I've been trying…

the only difference on weekends vs weekdays was making lean and green meals that took longer to make. Since I stayed OP for 40 weeks and they were pretty much the same. Good habit for weight maintenance.

I love the word choice rather than cheat. I was a lot like Goldendoodle. I lost and stayed on plan almost 99.9% of the time. Otherwise, it just cost too much- in time, product, emotional stress. While OP, I forced myself to learn new habits to deal with stress and other reasons why I used food to cope. I don't use food to…

What does your doctor say? I went for the middle of my BMI and it feels right, but everyone is different. I also stopped at a plateau so maintenance would be easier. Good luck

Grab the book "Refuse to Regain" by Barbara Berkeley. MD. I really learned a lot from that book. 12 rules to keep the body you've earned. Great tools and what to expect in maintenance. I'm 3 months into maintenance after 72 pounds lost on MF. Friend me on MFP if you want. I still do 1 MF meal a day- or less- (sometimes…

I've had good luck with drinking really good coffee, not too strong, with nothing added. When I absolutely need something, I use non-sweetened coconut beverage ( in the box at trader joes). Just a tiny shot of that and maybe some cinnamon, since cinnamon tastes sweet to me these days. Good luck and safe travels

Costco turkey burger with fajita seasoning, cooked up and served warm over cold spinach with 1 TBS healthy fat dressing, and sliced cherry tomatoes.

I alternated between sweet and savory MF meals, that seemed to helped. Savory- bbq bites, chicken noodle soup, and chili. I also made a lot of savory lean and green meals- turkey chili, Jamaican Jerk seasoned chicken breasts ( check your brand for low sugar for that spice. Good luck. Once I transitioned and on maintenance,…

So close to goal, just wanting to get there so I can start transition soon. That day will come. Almost started transition at the end of Dec 2011, but opted for a BMI of 22 instead of 23. Added in light weight training- 20 mins twice a week. Karen P

I drink coffee black, with equal, or sugar free Torani or davinchi. Depending on my mood. Missing low fat milk and skinny lattes. Will bring that back on in transition. Could also buy big deep mugs for nuking mf meals in the micro

The closer to goal I get, the more energy I get and I do think that exercising more - past 45 mins a day probably does not help my weight loss rate. Looking forward to long hikes again soon!!! I add in hard boiled egg whites, or 1/4 cup egg substitute if I'm super active. Seems to help.

Oh yeah, MFP and the MF Facebook page are both so helpful.

Thanks, Lisa. I've lost an ave of 2 pounds per week. about 53-54 pounds lost and about 10 from goal, so I've slowed up to 1.5 or less a week. I'm on a plateau right now, darn it!! My health coach says eat the leaner meats and veggies, vary the time of day you eat your lean and green, try not to have the optional snack- or…

Great topic. I found key Medifast recipes plus good lean and green recipes at these two blog sites. http://escapefromobesity.blogspot.com/p/medifast-foods-tips-recipes.html and http://www.lighterrecipes.com/p/medifast.html

Hi Lisa!!! I've been on Take Shape for Life (Medifast) 5&1 plan since May 3, 2011. Lost 54 pounds so far. Transition and Maintenance will be around Christmas time for me. I post on the Facebook Medifast board. I've also gotten my life back. Fabulous!!! I love myfitness pal for tracking my food this close to my goal weight
