  • After a year using a One, I moved to a Surge (2 months ago) and after 14 months with a Flex, my husband moved to a Charge HR (5 weeks ago). I received both of mine as a birthday gift from friends, so I didn't have to worry about the A$350 cost of the Surge, but if I had paid myself I would only have gone for a Charge HR…
  • It really depends on what weight you are starting at, the exercise you're doing (the type, duration and intensity), the macros of your diet (the breakdown of protein, carbs & fats for example) and the amount of water that you're drinking. I started at 213lbs and managed to lose 78lbs in less than 18 months with only an…
  • I think it depends on the device that you use. I had a Fitbit One for a year and that would just send over my general calories burned a block burn each day (adjusting itself accordingly throughout the day). I've now had a Fitbit Surge for 2 months and that can log the exercises because of the device functions available. I…
  • I am up to 1179 consecutive days and I have been logging since July 2011 (1354 days) but it took me about 6 months to find a routine that suited me.
  • I am up to 1179 consecutive days and I have been logging since July 2011 (1354 days) but it took me about 6 months to find a routine that suited me. @zcb94 - Don't feel sad! 65 days shows that you're committed. EVERYONE starts at Day 1 and we all have different start dates. Keep up the great work!
  • I eat 6-7 meals a day, but they vary in size depending on my activity level (eg whether I am working out once, or twice a day). This is my typical day re meals: 6am/7am - 2x protein shake (pre and post workout) 9:30am - Greek yoghurt & fibre toppers 11am - 30g protein bar 1:30pm - Chicken breast w/ salad 3:30pm - Quinoa…
  • Are you talking about the macros (percentages on your pie chart?). I personally have mine set to 40/40/20 and aim to eat 35-40 Protein, 35-40 Carbs, 20-25 fats.
  • I only drink water, protein shakes, coffee or tea. Anything with sugar (soft drink or juice) is just a waste of your calories. If you prefer "thickshakes" you could always add more skim milk instead of water to your shake, and less liquid to the powder mix to make it thicker.
  • I just throw them out. In Australia they now sell the equiv of 18 egg whites in a milk carton in the fridge section, so maybe check out your dairy section at the supermarket to see if you're able to buy the same? That way there's no wasting the egg yolks.
  • I started at 35 and now bounce between 20-21. I lost almost 80lbs over 18 months (July 2011 - January 2013) and if I can do it, anyone really can! Just reach out to people as this site is full of inspiration, motivation and support :) Good luck!
  • You can eat cleanly and healthily while pregnant without hurting your baby, but you definitely shouldn't actively 'diet' or try to eat less. You need your nutrition now more than ever. Talk to your doctor about what cardio is safe for you during pregnancy. I know that you're able to continue hardcore cardio workouts while…
  • Personally, I love my substituted "pancakes" of protein powder, mashed banana, egg and a little milk. I don't want to be fat and eating this substitute that looks, feels and tastes like a pancake is how I have lost half of my body weight. It's delicious and if I didn't know it was protein powder instead of flour, I…

  • Sorry everyone, we received over 400 emails in the first 2 days, so we had to cut off registrations. You're welcome to still participate in the challenges on the Facebook page, but we're unable to offer you a spot in the actual 10 week challenge comp (you'd not win a prize at the end). We will run another in April, but for…
  • Hi everyone - I won't be adding anymore friends, but you're welcome to add me! I only want really committed people as I already have so many to support. So long as you log at least every 2 days (I don't want to see '(username) hasn't logged in for 3 days' appearing in my feed. My rules are that you unlock your diary for me…
  • Not sure if you get it in America (as I'm Australian) but I use Body For Women shakes in 5 different flavours and I love them all!
  • We have an avid group of supporters on my facebook page that use MFP religiously and we work together to keep each other motivated! Feel free to join us :) www.facebook.com/Beingthisgirl Weight loss 2013 - yay!
  • Never let one set back ruin the rest of your day. Just make the conscious decision to keep on with your goal, regardless. Don't be one of those people who "starts again on Monday" but eats crap all weekend to "make up for it".... those are the people who don't really want to lose the weight, but feel like they should for…
  • Eat before you go, then drink lots of water throughout the day and take some healthy snacks in with you (like protein bars etc). There are some healthier restaurant options, but stay away from the candy stores and the fast food eateries. You'll walk lots but that isn't enough to burn any excess sugar. Lucky girl! I live in…

  • The white residue from dry shampoo shouldn't last - if you spray it in and massage it into your hair, it should absorb all of the sweat/oils, you then brush it out. There are hair colour specific types available now though too. I find just having my hair up in a ponytail works and using a sweat headband, then a bit of dry…
  • It's just about learning what is in the foods you're eating. If you find the calorie totals are large, it *usually* means you shouldn't be eating much of that item (or at least not frequently). The less processed a food item, generally the lower the calories. Aim for non-packaged foods where possible (fresh vegetables,…
  • My mumma is 17th May :)
  • Hey :) Not sure - I had over 300 emails, but I have emailed everyone back, so let me know if you still haven't gotten anything from me. Check your junkmail as lots of my emails went there in hotmail and gmail addresses.
  • Due to overwhelming response (over 200 emails in the last 12hrs) we're not able to take on any additional participants. You're more than welcome to still check out our info on the Facebook page (www.facebook.com/Beingthisgirl) however the challenge for January - March 2013 is at capacity. Thank you! - Dom Co-editor…
  • Of course :) Just jump back into it when you get back!
  • If you go into settings, you will find both the diary settings and the privacy/sharing settings - just adjust as you wish. You can either share with "public" or just your "friends" or lock it with a "key" so that only you and those you give the key to can see.
  • You're so welcome Robin! I've just emailed you the info. No worries Paprikas! Glad you can join us :) I'm a bit OCD when it comes to forms, so it had to be done right! Mkallish - Email or PM me with your email and we'll get you started. Welcome! - Dom
  • Not drinking will certainly help your weight loss, but that isn't realistic as you want to adjust your lifestyle to a permanent one so that you don't see this "change" as a "diet". Have a look at what is on offer where you live. I switched from sugar heavy drinks to lower cal options... eg Skinny Girl cocktails, vodka and…
  • You're welcome to add me if you like :)
