  • No. I said that saying I have ZERO point of reference is ridiculous. I didn't say I know everything, nor do I think that. I would also like to point out that you guys are way overreacting. I get shot at so much for agreeing randomly with something that I have to fight for something I don't believe in to the full extent.…
  • I am talking extreme. Of course, everyone assumes though that I mean a child who is just overweight. Does no one watch the Maury show?
  • I have babysat for children of all ages. I have friends who have children who are also my age. Saying I have zero way of knowing is ridiculous, and I'm saying these things from a logical standpoint, not just ignorance. If I have an obese child in the future, I hope someone tries to stop me from whatever I'm doing.
  • Obviously I'm not sitting down drawing out a proposal to the feds, or else I would have answers for you. In short, I feel like something needs to be put in place to regulate this. It's not okay that people can kill their kids with food. Honestly, at a very young age (say 10 and under) maybe BMI is a good way to go about…
  • For being OBESE, yes. I would recommend a system where other healthy relatives could offer to take the child in. Just because I don't have children doesn't mean I'm an idiot. I would NEVER let my children get to that point. I have been an obese child, and it sucked. I would never put my children through that and if I did…
  • As I was reading this, I got so scared when you said you have a "chunky" child.. I was like oh snap, not another one! Glad to see someone smart enough to know that chunky and obese are completely different.
  • Who said that the one being abused wouldn't be taken away? You're adding scenarios that aren't at ALL accurate.
  • Yes, really. If a child is on the verge of diabetes as a result of what the parents are feeding them, you don't think that's child abuse? That those parents are obviously not fit to raise children? Once the kid turns 18 they can do as they please. But while they're still young, still learning, still molding, parents need…
  • I'm just going to quote this because I think everyone needs to be like this.
  • The US needs this, hardcore.
  • Even if she continued to stare, she didn't say ANYTHING to the parents of the overweight children. She likely wouldn't say anything to the underweight. This thread is frustrating, because after reading a bunch of the posts, I have to keep reminding myself that she didn't say anything. DID NOT. At all. But everyone is…
  • GIVE THIS CHILD A HAMBURGER, PRONTO! But seriously, no one likes to see a child unhealthy whether it's overweight OR underweight.
  • THIS is the way to go! Negative reinforcement, yeeeeahhh!
  • It's natural to have feelings about things you see, so I think saying you need to see a counselor is crazy. Even though it's hard to watch someone basically kill their children, you gotta keep your mouth shut. I get scared for when you see parents feeding their little 2 year olds french fries, but I'm no mother, I guess…
  • I remember seeing an interview where she said herself that she regretted doing it or something along those lines. They're basically just like any other cleanse, it's nothing special or different.
  • I think that's generally reading too far into it. Congratulating someone on losing weight is awkward. Good job! You're not a fatass anymore! It's just a filler.
  • I used to work at JCP in the misses department, and I always thought their Bisou Bisou collections were always super cute, same with the I *heart* Ronson brand and a few others that they always had together. Also there's a Nicole Miller brand I think it was.. Nicole something or other. Those were pretty cute too. :)
  • They're the same color, but taste TOTALLY different.. I think I'd notice pretty quick.
  • I'm glad someone else mentioned the not-eating-enough factor. About two years ago I lost twenty pounds, because I was in two PE classes to graduate high school. I was working out for 3 hours a day (1 full hour of cardio, give or take probably 20 minutes with another hour and a half of walking). I wasn't thinking about my…
  • You can't target any specific area, despite some claims (usually made by people trying to sell a product). It will eventually go away as you lose weight.
  • What specifically is it that is a pain to cook rice? Maybe I'm using weird rice.. but I literally stick it in a pot with water and stir it occasionally. It cooks itself in 10 minutes. Then again, it's not brown rice which I know can take longer, but I believe it's just a time difference.
  • Non-believers in.. noodles?
  • Boiling chicken is really easy, but seasoning it is near impossible to get right. I usually bake my chicken. Just put it in glass with some pam olive oil spray, lemon juice, garlic, and maybe some parsley and cover with foil. Bake until it's done, usually around 350degrees.
  • My brother lost 60lbs in a few months eating almost nothing BUT potatoes. Eat 'em up
  • Make your snacks something like almonds or something with whole grain bread. Both are calorie-dense, but good for you.
  • everything
  • I think it is 8oz.. just get as much as you can. Down a glass every hour and you should be okay.

  • I haven't read most of the posts.. but I read a few. Think of it like this: have you EVER heard of someone getting fat eating fruit? I personally believe that your body functions better and more efficiently on fruit/vegetable calories, which means you will therefore burn more during the day or during your workouts. Example…
  • Vegetables are cheap. Organic isn't, but non-organic ones are. Potatoes are healthy and cheap, and not as horrible as people act like they are. Potatoes, corn on the cob, celery, carrots, whatever. It's all cheap. So are beans (canned or dry, dry is cheaper and healthier) and rice (brown). Buy in bulk. Health foods are…
  • Most tattoo artists would draw something out for you themselves. I think they actually enjoy putting their own work on someone than copying another person's. If you give them a general idea of what you want I'm sure they'd draw it out for you, and of course they'd understand better than any artist if you want it slightly…
