I reached menopause 4 months into my weight loss of 68 pounds. You can either make a commitment to doing this, or continue making excuses and expect others to help you. If you are interested in how I approached it, here is my success story I posted:…

More protein and fat will get you there, you are very low on both.

Thank you! The last picture is me just shy of my 53rd birthday. Let's just say I am in better shape now than I ever have been. Though to be fair - pictures often show our "best side". What you don't see in the photo is the cellulite and loose skin. I have both, but will happily take those instead of obesity.

Thank you! Actually, I hit menopause 4 months into losing. While I wish I had started earlier, it's all good, as I am pleased I finally did it. No use having regret over something I can't change!

I'm 5'1, and here is my story: http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/10019497/better-late-than-never/p1

Agreed.

Damn! That is awesome.

Yay! Great goals. Along the same lines, I hope to be adding 15# to my squat which will be my body weight, which I will be maintaining. Last year I lost 6 pounds between Thanksgiving and New Year's.

Thank you so much! <3 I had a bone scan done last February (so 14 months from the first one) which actually showed more thinning, however, it was done on a different machine which I understand can show different results. Also, from the time I got that recommendation from my doc to resistance train, to the time I could…

I lost my last 10 pounds (68 pound total loss) while pulling away first weighing and measuring, then logging. I started with one day a week, then 2, then 4, then eventually all days. Once I had the not weighing/measuring under control, I applied the same approach to not logging. I was anxious at first, questioning myself…

Congratulations! I love your smile in the second picture.

That is a great video - thanks for posting.

Thank you! I would be happy to tell you - here is my success story that I just posted this week: http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/10019497/better-late-than-never#latest

I'm 5'1, lost 68 pounds putting me at 110. I'm almost 53 years old.

This says it all.

Love it!

Thank you! Yes I do have loose skin. On my abdomen, my thighs, and arms. I hit my goal weight 2 1/2 months ago, so I'm hoping things tighten up in the next year or so. But honestly, it doesn't really bother me. I'll take lose skin over obesity any day!

I just posted a success story, here is the link. http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/10019497/better-late-than-never#latest

Thank you! The time frame for the pics is 4 months - the beginning of July to Nov 1st (I started working with SS July 1st). The first month I was doing the modified All Pros, then began SS's program on Aug 11. I hit my goal weight on Aug 22.
-
Thank you everyone! Working with SS has been a great experience. I never thought I would be where I am now, not logging my food yet maintaining my weight, and lifting what I am. SS posted my squat as 5x5x80#, and last night I hit 5x5x85! This is after only having done goblet squats previously (highest was 35#). I am…

Pretty much this ^. I lost weight by staying at a calorie deficit. I improved my fitness by exercising. If you want to exercise, find something you like doing, or the least objectionable (I'm not a huge fan of exercise, but I do it anyway. It makes me feel better overall).
-
I'm 5'1, down from 178 to 110. Took 2 1/2 years of learning new habits of moderation and portion control. I am planning to post a success story later this week that will have pictures.
-
Well, you can always lose the weight, and if you hate your body more because of loose skin you can just gain it back. I am 5'1, lost 68 pounds, and have loose skin. No way would I EVER trade what I have now for being fat again.
-
I'm not sure that inaccurate logging is the best way to go for what the OP's goals are.
-
This is pretty much where I was at before pulling away logging. I felt like I had gone from one form of mindless eating that made me fat, to another form of mindless eating where all I paid attention to was whether the food scale said 100 grams of chicken. I don't think there is anything wrong with someone wanting to…

It is common to have body image issues when you have lost a lot of weight. People who knew you before might say "you're too thin" as they are not used to seeing the new you. I encountered that. I talked to my doctor about my weight, and she feels I am at a good weight and BMI. I also got a body fat estimate in the Eat,…

Congratulations on your loss - you look fantastic! I also desired to lose the last few pounds and maintain without logging, or logging occasionally. I started with not logging one day a week, and just really paying attention to my serving sizes and getting the right balance of macros in each meal. It was really hard - I…

Wow - so great that you did it together! You both look great and must feel pretty good too, you look so much happier.
-
Congratulations! What an amazing transformation and very inspiring.

I have the same problem! I blame the current skinny jean fad. I really thought losing weight would make clothes shopping easier, but that hasn't been the case :\
