  • I wouldn't be embarrassed over that! Plenty of people go backwards on those and I do believe they have a setting to go backwards! My first time at the gym it was packed and I choose the elliptical too for the first time ever and it took me a few minutes to realize I had to move to get it started. EVERYONE DOES IT!
  • This. HILLS most importantly. If you can put in a really good work out with hill intervals, then your race time will improve. I like to use the arc trainer at my gym in rotation with running on the treadmill to help get me ready for running hills. I have almost doubled in my speed/incline in about 30 days. Good Luck!
  • Do some research on accuracy on cardio machines, you'll be surprised! I believe stationary bikes are pretty accurate however, just be sure to input all of your info when you start the workout (age and weight).
