150 Lbs lost in a year is a LOT in a pretty short time... Think of that great accomplishment... You 'hit it out of the park' so fast, so early on, that anything short of that is going to seem like a failure. Be proud of what you've done... take time to regroup and think of why you are on this journey and the real results…

Hopefully you're taking measurements as well as weighing... sometimes you can tell better by how your clothes fit and taking measurements and photos of yourself. It sounds like a broken record, I know- but truly- you could be shaping up and being more FIT even if your weight has plateaued... Keep at it! You should be proud…

I'd reply with a completely non-sensical comment :) "OMG have you lost a crap load of weight?" And i would say "No I just read a lot" Then walk away. :) I'm tall- so it takes a LOT of weight for me to look different... and I'm toning up- so my weight is shifting, but I haven't really lost a lot of weight... transferring it…

Take it from me- had several BAD ankle sprains when I was younger and in sports and did not allow them to properly heal before I was back at playing sports. Fast Foward 15 years and my ankles are in TERRIBLE condition. I actually had a physical therapist tell me I had one of the worst ankles he's ever seen. Take the time.…

Drinking: vodka and water... buy a little bottle of Mio for flavor. pretty low calorie cocktail. Food: Gotta make good choices, eat only a bite of this or that... load up on salads. Maybe carry a protein bar in your purse at all times... you at least know the calorie content in those from the label and you can eat whatever…

I agree with LabRat... do your own research- look at what Docs/reputable websites say. I stopped drinking soda of any kind about 2 months ago and have felt personally better... I was never a big soda drinker until a year ago and then went ca-razy for it. Now I'm just doing a lot of iced tea and water, and some flavored…

I really needed to see this.. I'm experiencing the same thing (although, I've been working out most of my life in some fashion or another)... I am working my behind off for the last 60 days and have only seen minimal weight loss.. i know the bigger picture is inches and how I feel- but I sure wish that scale would catch…

Hi all- I'm 5'11" and looking for other tall, motivating friends :) SW:250 CW:240 GW:165-175 range I'm large framed and active... I'd rather not look at the scale very often so I'm going by how my clothes are fitting (better!) and my enegery level (higher!)... Good luck y'all!

Thanks everyone! What great feedback and support! Some great suggestions that I'll give a try!

Mine is pretty self-explanatory: I'm glad I'm a tall girl :)

I think it's an "Americanism" :) I say go for it!!

charlie horse = muscle cramp/spasm/knot... hurts like holy hell and makes you want to punch your neighbor.

I call 'em Fiber Fart Bars! Don't eat one after 5pm. You'll dutch oven yourself right out of bed.
-
I have broad shoulders too! Guess what they're great for? Tank tops and cute sleeveless tops... Unless you're willing to carve off some bone- might as well embrace 'em! :)

I'm interested! Also- fairly new to MFP, so not aware of these groups/challenges.. Details, please!

Hi y'all- been gone a few days and unable to swim... Helping my parents get out of their flooded basement- so.. in a sense, I was still swimming.. ugh... Did a few sets this morning... But- I'd never really timed myself before- so I feel pretty good about it... I'm new to swimming (formerly land-lubber) so I'm enjoying…

or- you can try to find a local consignment shop and sell some of your things to them... they're always looking for gently used clothing... AND- you can shop for some discounted, gently used clothing as an interim until you reach your goal weight! just my two cents! good luck!

Ok- that makes sense... what about a sustained ROAR after the weight has long since been lifted and/or deposited? :) To me- that cries "Look at ME!"

My only beef is with those (men AND women) who don't wipe up after themselves on benches, etc. A quick wipe of a treadmill side arms and control panel is courtesy... Only other gripe is if the sweat is flinging onto me by someone :) and no- not in a good way.

...You forgot "STOP GRUNTING". :) Rant # 3 over.

Well.... I'm tall... and it's kept me out of being branded straight up fat. :) "But you're so tall..it all spreads out..." lol
-
I have a NIKE one that I got at Sports Authority... works very well! Sometimes I forget my watch, but I still put on the chest strap and the POLAR in the treadmill or elliptical still picks up my HR, so it works well without the watch too- The watch holds your personal settings, so I miss it on those days I forget my…

My husband and his whole family are tall and thin- they're just naturally built that way. My husband can really never understand a food craving I've had or why I couldn't stop when I was full (fast-eater, gobble gobble). His family is wonderful- but it's annoying when they give me a "I know how hard it is to lose weight"…
-
Trust me- no one is thinking you're the flabby flab girl on the treadmill... You're at the gym, trying to improve yourself. That's all that matters. Start slow and work your way up... LOL- people at the gym are so self-centered, they're not thinking of anyone else. No worries :) I hate being on a machine more than…

What a GREAT mantra to live by!

invest in some good bras. if you're still losing- don't buy too many- but they should be a good fit for you whatever your size. it sucks spending the money on something you won't wear for too long- but take care of the girls! :)
