Also in place of mayo to make tuna salad. 1 ripe avocado 1/2 cup yogurt Salt & pepper to taste Mix in blender until smooth. Variation: add 1/4 tsp chili powder & juice of 1/2 lime Of course, you can whatever seasonings…

Maintenance range: actual weight or moving average weight
For those who weigh daily or frequently and track in a trending app: is your "take action" number an actual daily weight number or the moving average line? For exampke, When the daily weight jumps above the top end of the range, say 150, do you immediately go into deficit mode or just when the moving average gets up there?…

Breast stroke kick?
I'm excited to find this group! I just got back into lap swimmimg last fall after 15 years off, but I was never c ompetitibe or anything. In fact, I learned most of my strokes around age 30. Anyway, I was wondering whether you use a frog kick or whip kick on your breast stroke, and why? Thanks!

Why every day?
Where does the belief come from (for those who have it) that you have to workout every day? Someone is always stressing out that they missed a workout or have to take a scheduled rest day! Why is this a crisis?

REI: When did you join?
Since we're talking about REI dividends in another thread, I thought I start this one: When did you first join REI? 1986 Some of you weren't born then, but I'm sure there are others who can beat this.

Ordering eggs in a restaurant!
If you order eggs with a runny yolk (ss up, over easy, over medium, poached, etc), have you ever been served one with a broken yolk in a restaurant? The last 3 of 4 times in a local restaurant, I've been served a broken yolk! I've even gone to stating "not broken" with my order but does no good. Why would the kitchen let…

Thick & creamy protein shake brands?
Any suggestions for a protein shake powder that's thick & creamy like a real shake? I use Pure Protein. I like the taste of French Vanilla but it's kind of watery even with banana & ice. I've tried the much-maligned Shakeology and love how thick & creamy it is, but $oooooo expen$ive. Thanks. (No need to bash brands.)

DL vs squat weight
Should my weight for straight leg DL and goblet squats be similar? It seems like a lot of people's weight is at least "close" for these 2 lifts. I can DL more than twice what I can squat. I can progress my DL every week whereas the squat is much harder to progress. I DL with a 5 ft bar & plates and do goblet squats with…

Does 100 cals matter?
Going over 100 calories one day, now and then, makes no difference, but going over maintenance by 100 calories every day for a year results in about 10 lb a year of weight gain. Think about it!

"Light" stretching
What on earth is "light" stretching or "mild" stretching as in the exercise database? Is there "moderate" and "heavy" stretching also? Shouldn't we be "thorough" or "complete" when stretching, rather than "light"? Does "mild" stretching mean go through the motions but don't really stretch? Pet peeve!
