Opinions on low/no-fat dairy?
Hi! Most of the dairy products I eat are low-fat or non-fat. I read an article on Big Think (http://bigthink.com/ideafeed/researchers-explore-how-protein-carbs-affect-weight-gain) in which a scientist is quoted as saying “when people consumed more low-fat dairy products, they actually increased their consumption of carbs,…

Invited out to eat- but not really interested in eating?
Hey! Soooo I have a bunch of friends and family coming to town, but they're getting here earlier today than I thought and they wanna go out to dinner. That usually would be fine, but I just ate a ton of Easter candy thinking I wouldn't have to eat for the rest of the day! Haha. The dinner won't be for a good few hours, but…

Soy question?
Hello! I'd love to incorporate some more non-meat sources of protein into my diet and have been thinking about soy/tofu products, but I'm wary of its association with breast cancer. Can anyone more knowledgeable than I am on the subject point me towards the facts...?

100g of cornbread?
Can anybody help me conceptualize how big a 100g piece of cornbread would be? I friend gave me a piece today and I'm trying to figure out how to log it. :) It was about 2 in by 1.5 in by 1.5 in... I've found different websites that show pictures of 100 g of different foods, but none of them cornbread specifically. :p

Prunes daily for constipation? Anybody do this?
Hey! I've had trouble with constipation all my life, haha. Runs in the family, although we all eat super healthy high-fiber diets. My dad takes a daily fiber supplement, but all of the daily fiber supplements I've taken don't really work for me... does anybody out there eat prunes every day so as to stay "regular"? I know…

Is there an IIFYM/flexible dieting group here on myfitnesspal?
I started two weeks ago with the intention of maintaining my weight and developing a healthier relationship with food :) I can't seem to find a way to search through the myfitnesspal groups in order to find one! Edit: I just realized this post shouldn't be in this part of the forum. How do I delete? lol

IIFYM question
Sooo according to MFP, I ought to be eating 1730 kcal/day in order to maintain. According to http://whataremymacros.com/ (lean mass formula) I ought to be eating 1889! That's a significant difference. Thoughts? Anybody else follow IIFYM with this calculator?

Core work question
Hey! So I know working your core (abs back etc) is important in preventing lower back pain. I danced ballet for many years and done Pilates but in the past few years I've gotten a lot more into weightlifting (though I still do Pilates sometimes just for funsies). I have friends who have told me that I don't need to do…

Eating most of my carbs in fruit?
Hello!! It seems that most days I end up eating most of my carbs in fruit. Fruit is good for you, but I just had the thought: isn't it pretty high GI? Would I be better off eating some more of my carbs in breads and stuff? The little "you've had too many sugars today!!!" indicator in my nutrition facts always turns red as…

High soluble fiber, low (preferably no) fat, high-protein foods?
Hi! I'm not trying to lose or gain weight, just maintain. I've calculated my macros and I (apparently) ought to eat 84 g of protein and 34 g of fat per day, but most low-fat, high-protein foods are things like meat and eggs- and I have trouble pooping when I eat so much meat and eggs! (forgive my candor, haha) Anybody know…
