Help picking a yoga and/or stretching DVD
I really enjoy doing stretching. On days I don't do my strength DVDs, I like to do stretching ones. It helps with the mobility issues, makes doing other exercise easier, and altogether just makes me feel better. The videos I have are so, so, but I am hoping those with more experience have some opinions. What I have: Rodney…

Piriformis issues
Back in Feb, pre MFP, I did about 7 weeks of physical therapy to relieve severe piriformis issues. Tons of lower back pain and spasms and shooting pains from my butt to ankles. Fast forward to now and I am down to 223 from 256 and felt good enough to start a strength training DVD. The strength training includes air squats…

Shoe me your shoes for walking in cold weather
I have a pair of Saucony running shoes that are on their way out. I walk my dog 2x per day and it will def be getting colder. Looking for some good sneaker type shoes that are good in cold weather (where it's not a mesh toe box type thing). They don't have to be overly athletic, but I'm not looking for snow boots,…

Feeling "puffy" after exercise
I don't do a ton of fancy-schmancy exercise, but I do walk the dog 2x per day for just under a mile and several times a week do a more fitness walk at lunchtime. Typically 1.5 miles at around 3.5 MPH. Sometimes when I'm done with my walk, my hands kind of puff up. My tummy isn't bloated, but my hands/feet feel and look…

Exercise: Where to start?
I'm not a big exerciser. I get a few walks in each day (about 30 minutes) with the dog and eventually I would like to lift. I don't think my core strength and a nagging hip/back issue will let me do that right now, but I would like to up my game a bit by increasing some strength, especially core and arms. I suspect the…

Help! Going out to eat and need help making a good choice
So I have two eating-out engagements this week. One is a birthday celebration for a coworker and the other is a family dinner. I can't opt-out of either, but I'm just over two weeks in and I'm panicking on staying within my calories. I don't feel either of these events warrant a "cheat" and since they are both in the same…

Friends?
Looking for friends. Prefer female 30-50ish or anyone who has lost 100+ lbs. Male OK too as long as you're not wanting anything other than commiseration and support in weight loss. Me? I'm 41, 5'6" and currently 242. Started MFP about 10 days ago at 254, but have been registered for years. Looking to reach 150 and would…

Am I doing it right?
First post ever, but not *too*new to MFP. Never really used it 'right' until now, or at least I think. So far, I have... ... a digital food scale and have been weighing my food ...read this article to get my MFP calories set: http://fit101.org/the-step-by-step-guide-to-losing-weight-with-myfitnesspal/ ...been toying with…
