Myfitnesspal app not syncing with Web version

Garmin Vivoactive counts steps but doesn't pull through a calorie adjustment on MFP
Can someone help please? If I track a run or swim on my garmin I will get extra calories on MFP. However when I used to use a fitbit step tracker I would get a calorie adjustment depending on the number of steps I do. With garmin it doesn't give a calorie adjustment for steps. Can this be fixed?
