Any other Kiwi/New Zealanders on here?
Hey there :) I'm Kelly, I'm 34 and live in New Zealand (and no I've never been intimate with a sheep lol). I'm a mother of 2 kids and a stepmother to 2 older kids, been with my long suffering husband for 11 years now :) My favourite things to do are to workout (running and lifting mainly but I'd like to get into boxing),…

What is your favourite exercise/workout? Muscle building without weights?
I read an article the other day about a woman who has never lifted any weights but does boxing as her main exercise. I was blown away by how muscular and fit and toned she was, without lifting any weights at all! She looked incredible! It got me wondering what everyone else's favourite exercises are and if maybe I'm…

Toning muscle without weights - what is your favourite exercise? :)
Hi guys and girls (and possibly aliens and dogs, you never know) :) I'm curious to know about muscle toning/strengthening exercises that don't require lifting weights. I do a lot of exercise using dumbbells and barbells (FitnessBlender routines, as well as deadlifting, squats, curtsy lunges etc) but I'm getting bored and…

640 calories burned?! That cannot be right!
So I recently purchased a FitBit to try and track my calories more accurately. I clean one house every day, averaging 2 to 2.5 hours. This includes scrubbing the bath, shower, toilet, wiping all surfaces, kitchen bench, etc, mopping and vacuuming. I used to assume I was burning 200 calories at most but my FitBit tells me…

What's up with my butt?!
I'm so confused. It seems that no matter how many varied squats, deadlifts, lunges, or booty workout videos I do, my butt has barely lifted and rounded at all. The rest of my body has toned up heaps, thighs and abs etc. Yet my stubborn butt refuses to budge. I use ankle weights and use heavy dumbells etc so I do push…

Am I way underestimating my calorie burn?
Hey guys, hoping for some advice before I literally disappear! I've lost 70kgs and now weigh 55kgs (which is about 122lbs). I used to do heaps of cardio to lose the weight but now instead I do weight lifting routines 5 to 6 days per week with a few HIIT exercises thrown in there. I eat about 2,500 calories per day or 3000…

Get fit = lose friends?
Hello :) I'm wondering if anyone else has experienced this. Since losing 70kgs and getting slim and fit, I've noticed that some of the female friends I had have either stopped speaking to me or turned plain nasty, ie, calling me an attention seeker etc. I am actually very careful not to mention my weight loss too often…

Rest days - will my fitness suffer?
Does anyone else feel guilty over their rest day? I'm happy with my weight so my exercise is toning/strength training one day, cardio the next, etc. I work out 6 days a week and I'd like to have 2 rest days but I feel bad enough just having 1 rest day. It probably sounds silly but I worry my cardiovascular fitness and…

Weights vs running - feeling overwhelmed.
I'm hoping for some advice on regards to how often I should workout. I've lost 70kgs and have managed to maintain a steady 60kgs for about 2 months now with a healthy clean diet of 2000 to 2400 calories each day (I was eating about 1300 a day to lose the weight). For my workouts I do cardio (either a 7km run, Fitness…

Struggling to eat enough
Hi there, hoping someone might have some advice for me because I'm really not sure what to do. I've lost a lot of weight (70kgs in total) and I now weigh about 60kgs, which is the lowest I'd like to go. I used to eat massive amounts of food easily (really bad stuff too!), but after months of sticking to 1200 per day in…
