  • This morning I listened to Rob Zombie, Die Antwoord, Rammstein, Prodigy, Papa Roach, Tool, Cypress Hill.
  • Roast potato/sweet potato mix with garlic salt, chilli beans, chicken bacon, avocado, spinach mix, sour cream and cheese. Make a food mountain and insert into facial hole lol :)
  • Oh man I would LOVE to do silks and trapeze!! It looks like there's a real art form to it, but in New Zealand it's very rare to find a place to do it. I guess I could tie a bedsheet to the clothes line and swing around on that LOL. I'm a big fan of P!nk and seeing her do silks while singing in concert is just amazing! :)
  • You hit the nail on the head. I'm basically doing the same few movements again and again every day, 6 days per week. I use Fitness Blender videos from YouTube. I do lots of different videos but they all seem to be the same movements, just shuffled into different order lol. I think this is why my body and brain (and knees)…
  • Thanks for sharing your knowledge :) I'm very new to lifting and I had to Google Progressive Overload lol. I started lifting 2 months ago after losing 70kgs through cardio. I started with tiny weights (1kg each hand and 5kg for squats and lifts LOL), now I'm onto 5 to 6kgs each hand and 25kgs deadlifts and squats. I admit…
  • Burger Fuel!! Once a week I have a Flame Thrower chicken burger and Spud fries, and I log it. I also make homemade pizza once a week, stacked high with vegetables (mushroom, capsicum, onion, avocado, etc), chicken bacon, pineapple, and edam cheese. I eat the entire thing lol and I also log it. I eat slightly less during…
  • Thanks guys, a wealth of knowledge and valuable information in your replies! I fear my expectations have been very unrealistic in terms of that perfect rounded high butt (my body just isn't built that way), and I most definitely need to learn the art of activating my glutes. Deadlifts always pull hard on my hamstrings but…
  • I feel your pain! I've been squatting and deadlifting and doing heaps of Fitnessblender booty videos yet my butt refuses to lift. My entire body has toned up but my butt is being a lazy a**hole, pardon the pun lol
  • My goal was to lose 70kgs and I managed that. Now my goal is to build muscle tone and keep my weight stable :) I'd rather be strong and athletic looking than scrawny. I guess I'm surprised that 2500 to 3000 isn't enough to maintain for a small framed woman. Even with weight lifting and a physical job it kind of surprised…
  • I want a FitBit or similar so badly! I need to save money to buy one, I think it would help me a lot!
  • I've crunched the numbers with my TDE in about 5 different online calculators lol. They all come back with around 2500 for someone of my height and weight who is active. I also clean houses each day for 2 to 2.5hrs which I'm sure burns lots of calories.
  • Once a week I have a grilled chicken burger and spud fries from Burger Fuel (It's like a much healthier fresher version of your average takeaway burger place). I have 2 squares of stevia dark chocolate every day as part of my meal plan too so that kind of feels like a treat. I don't actually eat any real junky type foods…
  • One friend was very honest and told me she liked it when I was fat because even though she too is overweight, she reasoned with herself it was okay to be big because I was bigger. She confessed that when she saw how much weight I'd lost, she felt like she'd lost her excuse to not lose weight because I managed to do it. She…
  • It's going on my Christmas list! It will make things much easier to work out and calculate :)
  • I haven't done any cardio/running for 3 days now (just weights) when usually I do it at least every second day. This morning I got back into it and I was very surprised to find that my usual results were all that little bit better! Burned more calories and made better time. Interesting how I assumed that results would go…
  • I shall fashion you a hat out of tinfoil lol. (Full on picturing the tinfoil hat in the movie Signs haha).
  • I FINALLY managed to crunch the numbers properly and the result is....it's 3.6km round trip, not one way. Now I feel like a complete drongoloid for telling people my best time because I look like a massive liar lol. So I'd say 3.6kms in 20 to 25 minutes is low to average in time. On the upside, I have new goals to set now…
  • Really interesting reading all your replies. In the time it's taken me to lose my weight (about 12 months), I've posted only one full length selfie, made one status on FB about hitting a running goal, and the only time I really say much about weight loss is when others ask me how I did it, ie they bring the subject up. I…
  • You guys are like scientists with your formulas and here I am struggling to work out how long my beach run is LOL
  • I had a friend say to me that she used to be fine with the fact she's overweight because I was always bigger than her. She said when I lost weight, it meant she no longer had an excuse to be fat and that it made her resent me. Despite recognizing this isn't a good way to view me, she has still chosen to withdraw from me. I…
  • Okay now I'm MEGA confused because I mapped a drive on the road alongside the beach and it is indeed 3.6kms one way. Aaaaargh..... EDIT: Okay, worked it out properly now and it is indeed 7.2kms. I've been training for a long time so maybe I'm just fitter than the average person?
  • Haha thank you for clarifying! I did think the numbers were a bit odd. Geez I'm a derp lol.
  • Here is the beach and map so you can get a better idea. It says 3.6km one way but maybe I'm still messing up my numbers somehow? http://www.mapmywalk.com/nz/rothesay-bay-auckland/stanmore-bay-beach-walk-route-10552879
  • This is why my dog is my best friend LOL. So I guess getting fit not only eliminates poor health from my life but also eliminates unhealthy relationships too.
  • No way, really? Okay I must be working this out wrong somehow.....nope, just worked it out using 2 different maps and my numbers are still correct. I don't sprint like a nutter the entire time, just a steady constant pace except for my 10 second "run like the cops are after you" sprint at the end lol. I don't know whether…
  • I run a local beach that is 3.6kms long, then back again so it's actually 7.2km in about 20 to 25 minutes. I add short sprints at each end which probably speeds up my time. I actually thought I was on the slower side of things lol You guys are awesome, all your advice has been very valuable to me. I'm having a second rest…
  • Thank you for your replies. My workouts consist of lots of Fitness Blender strength training and toning videos and running, ie, one day I'll do butt and thighs toning with weights, 25 minute run the next day, total body weight training the day after, etc. I mix it up a lot. My goal is to maintain my weight (55kgs), improve…
  • I realised one day that the biggest size most stores stocked was getting tight on me and I had no idea what I was going to wear once those didn't fit anymore. I lost 70kgs, I'm now a NZ size 10 (I think that's a US size 2 or 4?) and my wardrobe is bursting with clothes lol :)
