Pumpkin seeds...yikes!
I thought making homemade baked pumpkin seeds with no salt would be a healthy, low calorie snack. Just looked them up. For 2 tbsp of seeds, it varies between 145 and 170 calories! Wow....as bad as nuts! Still good for you but definitely higher calorie than I expected.

Refusing temptation....
I was visiting my brother and his family yesterday on a break from my job. They are a naturally slim family, and my brother is a disgusting 5'11" and 145 pounds soaking wet. Why didn't I get that metabolism? :grumble: Supper was a shrimp and sundried tomato pasta dish in a sauce made with whipping…

What are they thinking? LOL
I've been diagnosed as borderline anaemic, so I am watching my iron intake. Some of the research I have done tells me that caffeine and calcium blocks your uptake of iron. So please tell me.....why do they make iron fortified cereals, with 50% of your iron intake, when you are most likely going to pour milk on it for…

HRM question for Polar FT7
Hello. I have seen people posting about subtracting your BMR from your calories on your HRM. The Polar FT7 comes with no requirements to set VO2 max or anything else. It just asks for age, height, weight etc. Does this HRM already account for your BMR when it gives you your calories burned, or do I need to be subtracting…

Weight gain after slight change in goals?
I recently changed my goals from losing 1.5 pounds per week to 1 pound per week. I have been feeling dizzy and light headed, and my doctor thinks I am anaemic. However, I thought I might need a little more food, so I changed my goals. In the 4 days that I have been eating an extra 250-350 calories a day, I have gained back…

Body fat %....what is reasonable?
Hello. I have been on the program for 4 months and have lost 31 pounds. I just got a new scale yesterday that measures body hydration and body fat % in addition to weight. After 31 pounds dropped, I am at 37.1% body fat, so I shudder to think what the number would have been at the start 4 months ago! :noway: What is a…

Right HRM for me?
Hi. I am wanting to get a HRM that will work for me. My exercises include yoga, walking, biking, elliptical, recumbent bike and swimming, and sometimes a little weight training or horse back riding. I need something small, comfortable to wear all day if need be and WATER PROOF for when I am swimming. Any suggestions or…

Need stretches for front of legs/hips
I am finding that my hips are sore and tight after starting my new exercise program. They are always achy and I have not found a stretch that works that area. Any suggestions? The area that needs stretching is the front of my legs from upper thigh, through the front of the pelvis/hips and into lower abdomen. Thanks!

Twist board....how to track the exercise?
Hello. I just purchased a Bally Twist Board to help with some toning on my waist and hips. I have seen it get recommendations as a fitness accessory on the web, but I haven't been able to find how many calories you burn at any level, be it low, medium or high intensity. I don't expect it to be much, but every little bit…

How can I avoid emotional eating?
I have been doing well for almost 2 months and have lost 19 pounds. However, my husband and I separated last night and while the last thing I feel like it eating now, I know it will come, as I have always been an emotional eater in response to stress in my life. Any advice or tips on how to keep myself on track? Thankfully…
