Garmin reality check....
I did a bike ride today, 11 miles over about an hour and a half. Per Garmin I burned 1857 calories! Could that be possible? I was pedaling the entire time with a few hills thrown in. My weight and such are programmed into the Garmin. Could the 1857 be accurate? Thanks!

I'm down 3 pounds, but the best thing is that I'm down 5.5 inches! An inch here and there adds up! I gotta say, seeing and feeling change is a pretty powerful motivator.

Doing the shred, except when....
I need opinions. On weekends I go standup paddling. Sunday I paddled 5.11 miles and burned 613 calories, according to my Garmin. When I got home I walked the dog for 30 minutes, then did a solid 30 minutes of stretching out my muscles weary from paddling. I just didn't have it in me to do the Shred. I figure it's a…

Tools for determining a realistic goal weight?
How do you determine what is a realistic goal weight. I used a healthy BMI, but that is sometimes not the most accurate depending on muscle mass, etc. At the moment I've chosen a weight in the healthy BMI range and will adjust later when I get closer. Does anyone have any other recommendations?
