Amonia smell in my nose after I exercise
Was wondering if anyone else has experienced this? It has been happening just about ever time I work out lately. I will get done and while I am stretching I have a really strong smell of amonia in my nose. When it first happened I went around the house to make sure the kids had not gotten into anything. It seems to go away…

Thinking about competing in powerlifting
Jen Sinkler just put out an ebook that answers a lot of questions about what you need to know going into your first competition. I like all the info in one place. http://www.unapologeticallypowerful.com/friends/?r=8ad854d0b4dd

I finally did it!
I deadlifted 300lbs tonight. I have been struggling this past year with my training. I've had some injuries to work through, but I finally hit a 300lb deadlift tonight after being stuck at 275lbs for over a year.

Eating for health is eating enough to support your activity
I started out March 1, 2012. I was 255lbs. I started out eating 1610 cals plus more on the days I exercised. When I lost weight I was prompted to lower my cals. I was down to 1420 cals by May. I had lost over 30lbs and was working out 3-5 days a week. Then my hair started falling out, a LOT. I had blood work done and…

I'm going to Memphis in the near future. I've never been there and I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations for restaurants and places to visit?

Why do I feel unsafe?
I have gained and lost weight over the years and at one of my heavy points several years ago I walked by a man who didn't seem to notice me. The thought popped in my head "Well, at least he didn't look at me." That thought completely took me by surprise and was the first time I put my weight and feelings of security…

Interesting HRM results and NSV
When figuring calories all the estimates take into consideration sex, weight, height and other variables. As your weight goes down you are supposed to burn less calories. But, since I have had my HRM I have noticed my calorie burn going up doing the same routine. It is very encouraging. I know it is because I am becoming…

Refrigerator Oatmeal Recipes
Just found The Yummy Life website last night and it has several really good recipes for refrigerator oatmeal. As I am typing I am eating my delicious apple cinnamon oatmeal. I input the recipe last night and the way I made it has 388 calories and is very filling. I added pecans to mine so you could easily leave those out…

A tip to those just starting out!
Take pictures so you can document your weight loss. I didn't, and now that I have lost 34 lbs I wish I had something to show how far I have come. I could use the encouragement. The scale has gone down, I have lost 2 pants sizes but, when I look in the mirror I don't see a big change. I know it is in my head so that is why…

FitBit vs. HRM
I have been thinking about getting one of the two devices. Wondering which is better? The main exercise I do is eliptical, circuit training with weights and Pilates. Are these even going to register on the Fitbit? My goal with buying a device is to get a more accurate count of calories burned. MFP's estimates seem high to…
