Hurricane help
So, I'm stuck in the house, nothing much to do. Baked some cookies and then ate a bunch with some yummy brewed coffee. Soon I'll be eating some of the chicken I baked this morning so it wouldn't go bad if we lost power and I still had the power to use my oven. At least that's reasonably healthy! I just can't get motivated…

NSV--Pants starting to fit
I know I still have a long way to go and this is only a mini-NSV, but I tried on a pair of pants today that I bought a while ago and wore before I regained weight I had lost in the past. OK. They're a 20 and they're still a little snug, but they're not the 24s I had been wearing and I can pull up and zip them, even if they…

Not Worth It
Ladies and gentlemen, you can all thank me, or throw cash, or whatever! I took one for the team. I was in Target and saw the Limited Edition Candy Corn Oreos and bought them. Today, I ate two -- just to see if it was worth the hype -- and found that it really wasn't. They remind me of the Birthday Cake Oreos, kind of…

So how many calories should I net?
I've been reading the posts and reading the guidelines and at times I get very mired in numbers and all the math. Right now, my daily calorie expenditure, based on height, weight, age, gender and activity level (sedentary) is just over 2,000. I've indicated I want to lose 2 lbs. a week (I'm currently well over 200). MFP…

Fit to Fat question
I was just over on Fit to Fat and used each of its calculators to determine my body fat percentage. The original one says my Body Fat % is just over 28%, the Covert Bailey one says it's 35.5% and the military one says it's over 57%. Using the mathematical formula, my BMI is in the 40s. I know I'm way overweight and need to…

If I decline a friend request...
OK, I hope people don't slam me here, but if I decline a friend request will the person who requested my friendship be informed? I received a friend request from someone with whom I have nothing in common (age, amount to lose, etc.) I don't want to be rude, but I don't know that we have enough in common to be supportive of…

Ironic
As I've been reading through posts on this section of the message boards, two very interesting sidebar ads have scrolled by: a contest for DQ and its Oreo Blizzard, and then one for Domino's Pizza. So not fair when I'm coming to this thread to get Motivation and Support! 'nuff said!

Another question: BMR vs. Net
I used the BMR calculator for MFP and came up with 1745. Then I did the profile, where you enter your weight, height, age, gender, amount you want to lose and at what pace, and your activity level and plans for exercise. I said I was lightly active and that I would probably do some kind of cardio 3x a week for 30 minutes.…
