Hurricane help

So, I'm stuck in the house, nothing much to do. Baked some cookies and then ate a bunch with some yummy brewed coffee. Soon I'll be eating some of the chicken I baked this morning so it wouldn't go bad if we lost power and I still had the power to use my oven. At least that's reasonably healthy!
I just can't get motivated to do an exercise tape and the Y is closing soon, so I can't go do a workout or swim.
Help talk me off the ledge and figure out how I can get through the rest of today and probably all day tomorrow without going stir crazy and eating everything in sight.

Make some healthy recipes using ingredients you have on hand. Make a deal with yourself that you can have a treat for every so many minutes of exercise, 30 minutes for 1 cookie. be sure you make the cookies super small, or anything else you may bake today. Use these days to completely clean your house..... one room at a time, clean walls, doors, trim, clean out closets, cupboards, drawers etc. Can you do a spa day? Have a relaxing bath after cleaning your house, soak your feet, do your nails etc.... keep all snacks out of reach and a nice water bottle close by! You can do this.... come here often for inspiration. If none of that works, I would have a nice long nap, you can't eat while sleeping!0

You definitely need to get up and do something because it sounds to me like you're headed for some major boredom eating!! If the thought of an exercise video doesn't motivate you, make up your own routine. This is a good thing to do anyway so you'll be prepared for when the power goes out.
Do a minute each of jumping jacks, running in place and jump rope. Do as many push-ups, sit-ups, tricep dips, squats and lunges as you can. Run up and down stairs if you have them and take two at a time if you can. Google for more at home and/or body weight exercises. Either repeat this small circuit 2 or 3 times or come up with a bunch more to fill 30 minutes time.
To avoid further boredom, find a good book to read, catch up on your newspapers/magazines, pick up a craft project, go through your closet, do that chore you've been putting off, etc. There's always something to do besides sitting on your duff and eating!0 -
jump rope =the same as going running. i do that on rainy days when I cannot run (i'm stuck inside due to the hurricane as well; work closed). I'm also going to do some Pilates. trying to strengthen my core after a c section a few months ago.0

I'd probably avoid baking high calorie goods and maybe make some low calorie soup that will fill you up and you can dip into without it making a huge dent in your calories.
Also as someone else said - if you don't fancy doing an exercise video then maybe consider doing something fun like dancing to some of your favourite music or maybe doing some cleaning chores that you've been putting off. Also, saying that, why not take this opportunity to do some project you've been putting off because you've never had enough time before?
Best of luck and hope the storm blows over without too much damage. x0
