I'm baaaack...
Honey, I'm home. Gah. I used MFP to help me move from a size 16 to a 4 and it was wonderful. I was dedicated and excited. Two years ago my son left for the Navy and my stress level went from 100 to 0 and I have spent 2 years making merry....and it shows....from every angle. Now I have to start all over and don't even…

It's MORE than weight loss!
So, a few months ago I reached my goal (from 166lbs/size 14, but really a 16 but squeezing into a 14, to 133 lbs/size 6 and can sometimes SQUEEZE into a 4). I never ever thought I could do it, but I did! The secret.....HARD WORK and COMMITMENT. Once I started MFP, I stuck to my calorie goal. Once I started exercising, I…

I made it...barely!
So, yesterday I participated in my 2nd 5K, the Graffiti Run, which was a BLAST! And I finished...but just barely. And that makes me super nervous b/c I have committed to a 10K this weekend. GAH! I run 3 miles twice a week on the treadmill I've run 6 miles on the road about 5 times, so I am constantly working on my running.…

SCORE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I did it! I met my goal! Man, I am sooooo psyched! In July I weighed 166lbs and was a size 14. As of THIS MORNING, I am now 135lbs (and hopefully a size 6...that remains to be seen). YEA ME! This really has been fun. I have learned that I can do anything I really want to do. I can lose 30lbs. I can run a 5K and am signed…

I DID IT!!!!!!!!!!
I just ran my first 5K!!!!! Ran the Santa Hustle in Galveston this morning....I made it the entire 5K WITHOUT STOPPING! Woo hooo!!! My official time was 35:12.87. I planned on running 5 minutes/walking 1 minute. That's what I've practiced on the treadmill. That was programed into my watch. But once I started....I just kept…

Anyone jog/run intervals regularly?
I've recently started "running"....more like a slooooow jog. My sister-in-law runs 5K's and half marathons regularly and she runs a 5:1 interval, no matter what race she's running. She said that is how her running coach trained her group and they all do it. She's not worn out by the end of her race and she doesn't feel…

thinking about a 5K
So, I'm only on W2 of C25K, but thought I'd begin looking at 5Ks in my area and maybe registering for one in December or January. This will give me something "real" to work towards. I saw the Jingle Bell Run and looked at the schedule. The 5-mile begins at 1:00pm, the 3-mile begins at 1:05pm and the awards begin at 1:45pm.…

need some C25K
I plan on beginning the C25K today after work, but it's been a busy weekend and I'm pooped. I've got the app loaded on my phone and Spotify loaded with a running playlist. Now all I need to do is get my butt on the treadmill! I am not a runner and have never been a runner, unless it was to open a pack of double-stuffed…
