Anyone Going Off Calorie Counting in the New Year?
So I've been on the site for about a year now. In the beginning, having to account for all my calories was really helpful and it opened my eyes to how innocent foods can come packed with calories. It took me about 4 months to reach my goal (it was only 10 pounds to begin with). I was working out 4-5 times a week and taking…

Saggy Butt Problem
I'm relatively thin and now at my goal weight (yay!) so now I wan to turn the focus to toning/shaping up and getting my *kitten* to look perkier. According to my scale (take that for what it's worth), I'm 119 pounds and 17.7% bodyfat. My problem area has always been my butt (I call it my fat deposit center). I've been…

Empanadas
Are they the worst? I'm craving one, it looks like the database puts them at about 300ish calories. Which I can "afford" to have today. But just curious as to whether these are considered really really bad for you. They're from a locally-based chain, so they are homemade-ish.

NYTimes finds Discrepencies in Posted Calorie Counts
The NYTimes posted a video yesterday where they had food scientists test out the posted calorie counts versus the counts in reality. Here's the link to the article/video. http://www.nytimes.com/2013/02/13/opinion/calorie-detective.html?_r=0 Thoughts on this? It certainly makes me bummed out.

So I'm an idiot, because I've been doing a circuit training routine for the last three weeks (found here) http://www.muscleandstrength.com/workouts/stephanies-circuit-style-fat-burning-workout.html It has squats, etc., but also things like jump squats and jumping jacks. And I had been logging it as "strength training" on…

How To Calorie Count Without Becoming Obsessive
So part of the reason I resisted strict calorie counting initially was because I had a bad experience about 5 years ago. I started eating about 500 calories a day for two months and lost 15 pounds. Eventually, I cracked and gained back 5 of those 15 pounds. I also worked out twice a week in that time frame (spinning). That…

Advice on Plateau, Small Amount of Weight to Lose
Hey everyone! I've searched back threads and saw a lot of "1200 calories a day is just too little" threads. Does that count if you have not that much weight to lose? I've been trying to lose weight for 6 months now and all I've accomplished is gaining two pounds (lol). I know that's not muscle because I can't fit into my…

Getting into my Wedding Dress
I'm convinced that the woman at the bridal shop didn't take my measurements correctly. That aside, I really need to lose a good 5 pounds to fit into my size 2 dress. CW: 127ish GW: 120 I'm on 1200 calories a day give or take and just started a strength training routine of 3 times a week. Before then I was doing cardio…
