Completed my first running 5k
I completed the Atlanta Hunger 5k with my two kids in the stroller this Sunday. I ran the entire time and finished at 40:40. I had to turn back when we lost a shoe and we had to stop briefly at two traffic lights.

You are a Runner
If you run, you are a runner. It doesn't matter how fast or how far. It doesn't matter if today is your first day or if you've been running for twenty years. There is no test to pass, no license to earn, no membership card to get. You just run. John Bingham

Top 5 Ways For Getting Your Running Mojo Back
http://blog.race-kred.com/2013/01/10/top-5-tips-for-getting-your-running-mojo-back/ I loved this article, even though I've barely developed any "running mojo" However, it really made me think about what it means for running to be "just ‘who I am’, it’s ‘what I do’ – it’s ‘my thing’." What does it mean to identify yourself…

The Hardest Day?
I wanted to see which day you thought was the hardest? For me it was Day 1. I was not fit, my belly and butt bounced with each step, I didn't have control of my breath and I was going too fast even though I was trying to go as slowly as I could. And I didn't believe that I could make it through the program. I was ashamed…

Thank you for the Sodexo Entries
I'd just like to give a *shout out* to the person/people who entered the entire Sodexo menu into MFP. You've made this such an easy process for me. Thanks for helping make me successful!!!

Countdown to Graduation - 9.2
Just finished 9.2 and it was yummy. You know, I watched that video about running form and it messed me up for about three runs. What feels most efficient to me is when I concentrate on pushing my hips a little forward so they feel balanced over my toes. I know that's not what's happening on the outside but that's what it…

Life after C25K
I just did one of the NHS post C25K podcasts (speed) on the treadmill and it was phenomenal. Running to a beat and having somebody talk me through it was just what I need to keep me motivated through the run. Well, that and the fact that I'm really RUNNING and not shuffling through a jog the way I did when I first started.

Yay me!
Week 8.1. My phone battery died just after my halfway point. No cues, no music. I pushed forward and ran what I think was the full 28 minutes anyway. I'm so proud of myself and so amazed that I (*me!!!*) was able to do that. It sounds so ridiculous when I say it out loud. Like I'd ever be able to do anything like that…

Shoe basics
I realized yesterday that maybe not everybody on this site has access to $80 running shoes, or even a run store to learn about the appropriate fit. I don't know a lot, but I thought I might share what I've learned. - The purpose of any shoe is to protect your foot from stuff on the ground. In addition running shoes absorb…

Week 7 Day 3 - Incredible
Oh. My. God. It was AWESOME. I felt smooth and gorgeous - really like a runner. Instead of focusing on potential fatigue and possible aches and pains, I found myself anticipating a little extra motivation to make it up the inclines and pacing myself to take it a little easy on the downside. I was so much faster than I'd…
