Hi, I've been on MFP for about 6 weeks and I love it. I'm doing C25K jogging and strength training. I'm 30 years old, married, no kids and almost a biochemist.

What's your strength routine?
Share what you're doing (or planning to do) to get stronger. I posted this in another thread, but this is mine. To start, I'm doing 2 sets of 8-10 reps for most exercises. When did you switch to excess calories?
If you are eating "positive" calories - How close were you to your ideal weight (BMI, body fat estimate etc) before you got serious about strength training and upped your calories to maintenance or higher? Did you continue to lose body fat?

When should I switch to maintenance or positive calories?
CURRENTLY - my BMI is 23 (normal) and I estimate my body fat to be 25 - 30% MY GOAL - to be lean and toned. APPROACH - 15% calorie deficit, 3 days of cardio, 2 days of weight training to try to maintain my muscle mass. 48 hr muscle soreness
On Tuesday I did full body strength exercises really earnestly for the first time. I was still sore after the 48 hr rest period so I only ended up doing only one set last night. I'm guessing this is because I'm new and brushing off some cobwebs. Do you work out sore muscles if two days have passed?

Do you strength train at home or the gym?
I do my exercises in my living room because of the convenience, low cost, no one is looking at me etc. Between the set of dumbbells that we have and using my body weight I know I will be fine for a while and I can make significant strides in our apartment. Any female Tubby to Toned pics?
I'd love to see pictures (or links to old threads) from women who started off close to their goal weight and then used strength training to become toned. How often did you strength train about how long did this take you?
