Weekend 5/16 - 5/18
I was very good with food all weekend and went out dancing on Saturday, which burned extra calories. But the big news is that I made it 30 minutes on the elliptical both Saturday and Sunday. I used to knock out 30 minutes on the elliptical with no problem, but it's been pure drudgery the last few weeks and I've mostly been…

My year on MFP: 120 lbs lost (pics)
When I joined MFP last year (pretty sure it was late April), I weighed 370 lbs (I am 6'1" tall). I was actually down from 395 lbs in December. I was working hard in the gym, but wasn't tracking my food intake. Joining MFP coincided with finally getting my testosterone back up to normal levels after having had testicular…

My first year on MFP
I joined MFP one year ago and wanted to share my story. You can find it here: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/1274951-my-year-on-mfp-120-lbs-lost-pics So many of you played a role in my success, especially those who put in the time to run the challenges in which I have participated; such as mulecanter and…

One small change = 19 lbs.
I'm coming up on my one year anniversary of being at MFP and so I've been looking at some of the changes I've made and what I would do differently. In the past year I started using almond milk (no sugar added) instead of 1% milk. My average consumption of milk is 2.33 cups per day Almond milk = 30 calories per cup 1% milk…

Mid-week check-in: March 20
After a few weeks of going backward, I am having a better week. I've been on the elliptical every day and my calorie intake is under control. I also hit a strength goal this week: I squatted over 200 lbs for the first time, 5x5. I'll definitely feel it later.

Goal weight
I was hoping to get some of your thoughts (generally) on setting a goal weight. I weighed 395 lbs in December 2012 and 370 lbs in April 2013 when I joined MFP. With a goal of eating 2500 calories per day and burning 500 calories per day (I'm not overly strict on my eating goal, but I do exercise 5-6 days per week), I've…

Trouble gripping on deadlift
Total NOOB question . . . As the weight on my deadlift has increased, I've increasingly had trouble gripping the bar. I haven't failed yet, but it seems inevitable that my grip will fail before my back or legs do. Is this normal? Also, I casually brought this up to a friend (I have no idea how knowledgeable he is) and he…

Opinion on Calorie Intake
My stats: Age: 51 Weight: 289 Height: 73.5" BMR: 2452 (according to Scooby's site) Activity level: Stronglifts workout 3x/week, Elliptical 30 minutes 7x/week, Walk roughly 1.5 miles / day, plus usually one other active event per week (such as going out dancing). I've been eating just over 2500 calories / day for six months…

Heavy Lifting with back issues
Please be kind . . . I am a 50 year old man who has been actively working out and watching diet for 3 months, losing 40 lbs - which is great - but I'm probably still 80 lbs over weight. During the last three months I've been doing cardio 6-7 days a week (elliptical mostly) and strength training 3-5 days a week. But I…
