Fast or Slow Weight Loss?
So I've heard it said many times that slow and steady is the way to go with weight loss. Reasons cited being that gradual changes in habit stick better, you retain more muscle mass, metabolism remains higher, more realistic to stick to than more extreme calorie restriction. I've always bought into that approach and have…

One Meal a Day?
Has anyone tried saving all or most of their calories for one large meal everyday? Just curious to hear from people who have tried it...good experience/bad experience? Still doing it or not sustainable? I easily stay on track with calories until about 5pm. 5pm-10pm is a beast for me, want to eat everything in sight. So I'm…

Harry Potter Inspired Mixed Drink
Need a drink that's not a zillion calories? In Harry Potter, wizarding kids drink "butterbeer" when they go into town. I just poured myself an adult version of what I imagine butterbeer would taste like. For 72 calories! 1oz butterscotch schnapps + a little diet cream soda. Bottoms up!

blew threw today's calories by lunch - what now?
had a lapse in motivation. ate what i felt like for lunch without measuring or adding the calories. then got mad at myself, did my best to estimate the calories, and realized i'd already eaten my daily calorie allowance. i think it's unrealistic to fast for the rest of the day (well, for me, anyway...i'm sure some of you…

Go-to meal for picky kids
Parents with picky kids...what's your go-to meal that makes everyone happy (i.e. healthy for the kids, plus they'll eat it, plus it doesn't kill your calorie allotment)? I feel like most households have one of these meals...the one that gets served at least once a week. What's yours? In our house we have two: -trader joe…

single deviled egg!
Was contemplating a hard boiled egg for a snack, but it just looked so dry and unappealing. Then, light bulb, thought why couldn't I make two deviled eggs? Split the egg, mashed the yolk with 1t real mayo, spooned it back into the whites. Delicious 100 cal snack!!

Evening and Late Night Sabatoge
Anyone else struggle with this? I'll be doing great all day, then evening strikes and it's like my whole attitude changes to, "bah, don't be so uptight...eat and chillax..." Logically I know this is terrible rationale, and if I do this most nights, which I do, then I will never realize my weight loss goals. But though I'm…
