What are your hidden / non-body-shape successes?
I've struggled with something called "metatarsalgia" my entire life, even when I was a fit and strong farm kid. I have to be careful with my feet so I don't get huge blisters on the balls of my feet and it's just plain painful to walk long distances. After about 1/2 a mile my feet hurt quite a bit and I'm dying to stop.…

Just a thought for those who were insisting that the gal who felt bullied wasn't actually bullied.

Quick Rant: Snacks at Work
Mass email: "There are crackers, cheese, and M&Ms in the break room!" I get so tired of constantly having to deal with avoiding/resisting break room snacks on top of trying to make good choices about packing my lunch, etc. I work with healthcare professionals, for heaven sake. You'd think they'd "get" it. But, no. The…

Resource for serving sizes?
I'm trying to enter a basic boneless, skinless chicken breast in my food journal. The only serving size options I can find are ounces or grams. If I don't have a food scale, how do I figure out what I should enter in my food journal? Is there some resource out there that lists the average portion sizes of general things…

Workouts I log in MFP won't show up in "active minutes"?
So..... I log lap swimming and water aerobics here on MFP since I obviously can't wear my fitbit in the pool. Since pool time is my only aerobic activity for the day, my "very active minutes" are always at zero. I'm assuming there is nothing I can do to fix this? It's just a stupid quirk of the two programs interfacing?

Searching for food.
Does anyone else get frustrated with the search feature here on MFP? Am I the only one who feels the search results are bad? I hate having to wade through a list of irrelevant things. Anyone have any tips for reducing the frustration / improving search results? For example: I search "zucchini" and I get: -Chocolate…

Desperate Cravings
I've been faithful to my low carb diet since my Diabetes diagnosis 2 months ago. I haven't gone keto, but I'm trying my best to keep my meals low carb and I avoid almost all refined carbs (with the exception of 1/2 a slice of multigrain toast at breakfast most days). I'm am craving something tasty to eat so badly that I'm…

Net Effective Carbs?
Can someone explain or point me to a resource that explains the thought process behind measuring net effective carbs? So far nothing I've ready about it makes any sense to me. I've sorta developed the attitude that it's woo. But if there is info out there that validates the theory, I'd love to read it.

What do you consider low carb?
I'm currently trying to stay under 25 carbs per meal / 75 carbs per day. I've received conflicting feedback about whether that normal is low enough. What do you guys consider low carb?

Hello.
I was diagnosed with Type 2 in September. I wasn't surprised. I had suspected it for months. Not to mention that it killed my grandmother when she was only 51 and my father has major problems from not being serious about managing his health. I should have known better. But I still gained weight and ignored my health. I…

lactic acidosis and metformin
I'm a recently diagnosed type 2 diabetic. I'm on metformin and I recently learned that it has been linked to lactic acidosis. My mom, a nurse of 36 years, told me that I should only exercise moderately to be certain I don't put myself at risk of developing it. Any others here on metformin? How hard/frequently do you work…

Starting Over - Looking to Build a Support System
Hello. I'm back on My Fitness Pal after a 3 year absence. I've been doing weight loss alone for the last little while but I'm at a point where I need the calorie tracking, etc. So I also want to build a support system here. Add me if you'd like. -Heather

100+ lbs to lose? I want to start a support group!
Hello! I just re-joined MFP. I used it in 2010 and lost over 50 pounds. But then I got lazy and went back to my old habits and gained it back. I'm starting over and I'd like to start a "support group" for those of us who have over 100 pounds to lose. If you're interested, please send me a friend request. Thanks! :^)
