I am a 50 yo female who started stronglift 5x5 three weeks ago. I need to lose weight while building muscle. Should I add cardio also? I have heard conflicting information on this.

weight lifting plateau
I just starting using the Nautilus equipment with some free weights thrown in at Planet Fitness five weeks ago. I have now hit a plateau on my legs and chest. It is very frustrating and I feel stupid when I am visibly struggling in front of everyone. Any suggestions on what I can do to get out of this rut?

Never any equipment available
Hi. I have tried several times to start the 5x5 program at my gym. However, each time I can never get any equipment. How is everyone planning on eating over the next 5-6 weeks? I have at least one holiday party (2 weeks I have 2-3 each of those weeks!). I have looked at several TDEE calculators on line and have gotten several different equations, ranging 200-300 calories in difference. I am totally confused on which one to use. Any suggestions? Thanks!

calorie count from MFP or use TDEE approach?
I just started on MFP and diet last week. Which is what most people use, counting the calories from MFP (1200 daily is suggested) or using the TDEE approach (2052 calories per day is suggested)after I subtracted 20%).
