Strength Training, fatigue and recovery
About 2 1/2 weeks into Stronglifts 5X5. It's going great but I have a question for those that do a lot of strength training. In the actual workouts themselves. It doesn't always seems that strenuous. I've sometimes pushed reps to 8 or added weight and still not gotten to failure, especially with squats. Others seem like…

Stronglifts 5X5 update
I can't find my previous thread so I'm starting a new one. About a week ago, I was in the 2nd week and the resistance levels were very mixed. Still are! The squats are fairly easy ever with the increasing weight. Might be because my legs are in good shape from running, biking etc. The bench and the deadlift seem about…

We've got some great parks with wilderness trails around that'd be…

It really depends on whether you are using a recipe from the list or making it up as you go. If you are making it up, look up every element and…

Calorie Burn and HRM
Today I did a 5 mile hike wearing my new HRM that I had only used in the gym to date. It was a fairly up and down course and most of the time my HRM showed between 100 and 115 with occaisional upward numbers from 120 to a high end of 133. 75% of my max is 120. At the end, I checked the review and it said 857 calories. I…
