Another start after a discouraging year.
Hi everyone. I am back on track after losing 35lbs. And gaining back 15. Last summer things were humming along nicely. Dieting going well. Exercise going very well. I had even started a running program and I don't think I had run since I was 14. I have asthma but it was well controlled In August/08 I came down with bad…

Has anyone seen my wagon?
Have you seen my wagon? I seem to have fallen off.... I began last February and lost 35 pounds. I went into the summer feeling good thinking ...."It's going to be even easier to be active in the summer"... boy was I wrong. First off, work got busy and took over my life for 2 months. I was too exhausted to exercise and of…

Yoga for Dummies?
I'm getting interested in Yoga. I meditate to control asthma and it works very well for me. I'm doing cardio and weights but feel like something is missing and would like to try it. So I'm standing in front of the info board outside the health food store and it has flyers for, like, 200 different types of Yoga!!! (Okay,…

Exercising when sick...
I have a really bad cold and I'm just wondering about exercising when you are sick - does it make you worse or help keep your energy up. I spent the first two days in bed for sure, but I'm still really stuffed up and feeling icky :grumble: I'm wondering if a workout might help. My default, of course, is to NOT workout,…

Ate well today but conservatively, worked out and have plenty of room left.... and let me tell you it never tasted so good knowing I did but also that I could guilt…

Switching it up
I'm wondering if anyone has suggestions for when you plateau.... I'm stuck at 210 having lost 25 pounds and it's been 3 weeks. I am hungrier than ever before and not sure what is going on. I'm mentally in the game, but just so hungry all the time. I have tried to listen to my body and if it's hungry, then eat but make good…

Yes you can fondue!
Okay, I love fondue... all that oil, cheese mmmm. So I was ready to eat little when I went to a friend's house for a fondue. To my surprise it was done in broth - chicken broth with ginger and another with beef broth and garlic. We cooked veggies and meat in the broth and it was delicious. I'd never heard of a broth…

Help knee-ded
I am having pain in my knees when I go up stairs or do squats/lunges. I think I need to strengthen my quads but does anyone know of any other exercises to strengthen the quads that don't involve weight bearing knee bends... I've also had to remove the hill interval training from the elliptical. I've never had knee problems…

Elliptical Trainer problem
Does anyone else find their feet go to sleep when using the elliptical? I can maybe make it for 20 minutes and then they go so numb they start to burn!!! I have to stop and walk it off and then start again... it really stinks because I want to keep my heart rate up and feel like I'm starting all over again when I get back…

I went to the doctor today and I have lost 25 pounds and I am now off of any blood pressure meds! I didn't think I could come off the medication this quickly... I am amazed and feeling really good about myself right now. I'm now at 210 and my next goal is to get below 200. Thanks to everyone here for your info and…

Best way to get back on track when you blow it....
Was out of town at a restaurant I wasn't familiar with and thought I'd made a fairly decent choice, but when I got back home and checked the restaurant menu on the internet, man did I blow it. It threw me so far over my calories for the day it wasn't even funny. I was caught off guard by that. So that led me to thinking…

Introduction
Hi everyone... I started making "changes" (I refuse to use the D word this time) at the beginning of February and things are going well....so far. I started out at 230 and I'm down to 214. I had previously done Weight Watchers and was doing a "modifed points" program just out of my head, but I sense I'm getting what I like…
