For those lucky enough to have time off and going somewhere nice, what strategies have you considered, which have you opted for and why? Also, anyone want to share the benefit of their experience and what they'd do differently next time?

Request for a few new Pals
I'm looking for 2 or 3 new MFPs who have something in common with me: - I'm 5ft 6. - Since March I've gone from 11st 11lb to current weight 10st 6lb. - I'm female. - I do a bit of cardio (Step, Spin etc) and I'm a Stronglifts 5x5 beginner. - My current goal is 1300 calories a day. - I have to eat away from home a lot and…

The weights given on the side of packaging...
...are completely inaccurate. Punnets strawberries, tins of tuna, packs of beef... all appear to include the weight of the packaging. Has anyone else noticed this and was I completely naive to have thought that the marked weight was the weight of the food I was buying?

Honeymoon period over, advice appreciated
Hi, I'm 5'6'' female only a few weeks in to following MFP. My BMR is 1462. I started off with MFP's 1200 recommendation for a weekly loss of 1.5lb and although I later read concerns about this, it was working for me so I decided to stick with it so long as it worked: Start weight: 11st 5lb Week 1: 11st 3lb Week 2: 11st 1lb…

What steps are you taking today?
Just that really. Feeling a bit overwhelmed about how far I've got to go, so trying to break it down in to smaller chunks and taking it an hour at a time. What are you doing today in order to achieve the goals you're aiming for?

"Water retention"?
Reading the forums, water retention seems to be a popular thing in the US. It appears to be a key part of the menstrual cycle over there. However, here in the UK, having Googled, we don't seem to get it on the NHS. We have dropsy and oedema, but this effects your ankles rather than your middle. Being serious, I've learned…

"Belly Off" video - what would you log this as?
I've been enjoying doing the "Belly off - the strength training routine". I do the full 55 minutes, it involves a lot of warming up and cooling down but the weight exercises make me sweat. What exercise in MFP's collection would you log it as?

What to eat when travelling and away from home?
Any tips for what to eat when travelling and away from home? I often travel for work, and in these early days so far I have researched and planned my meals whilst away. The downside is that this isn't always possible and is time consuming. So, I'm after food which is easy (and not anti-social) to eat on trains and also to…

What's the controversy about 1200 calories?
So, I joined MFP, put my stats in and went for a reasonable 1.5lb weight loss a week, understanding that 2lb is considered a reasonable aim. Then I join the forums and read a lot of disparaging remarks (to put it nicely) about people who eat at 1200 calories. Can anyone shed any light on the contradiction here? (For the…
