Especially for someone who has a tendency to eat too much sugar (from fruit, sweets, jellies, ice cream etc) and who doesn't like avocados or peanut butter.

Nuts we had on our list. Pizza's a good idea.

I need more ideas for snacks and tweaks rather than meals.

Let me go through the things I've had to eat less of lately and am really looking forward to enjoying more often once I'm in maintenance:

    Cheese
Bread. Lovely homemade or bakery bread, with butter.
    Wine and beer.
    Pasta.
Olive oil and sesame oil (really tired of my braises and oven-roasted veggies not tasting quite right)
    Pizza.
    Pot roast.
Enough steak to be really satisfying.

(He hasn't changed his mind about disliking avocado).

I've looked for coconut oil. How do you eat almond butter? Is it something you can neat?

    Also can't find almond butter.

Dairy is already going up to full fat (he loves yoghurt, but again it can be high in sugar from fruit).

The problem with butter is they need spreading on things. He avoids bread because it causes havoc with his molars.

Pretzels aren't really something we'd eat.

(He still doesn't want to be eating any more fruit. And he doesn't like peanut butter or avocado).

Usually mixing foods is a great way to increase calories :) for instance, instead of making a smoothie with just yoghurt and fruit, you can add some nuts and milk to it to give a new taste and more calories

Are you short any nutrients? Start there.

Short on fats? Eat nuts or dairy.

Short on protein? Eat fattier cuts of meat or larger portions.

Short on carbs? Eat enriched breads.

Not short on anything? Whatever you want!

I'm fairly certain he won't have changed his mind about avocado, but I will let you all know immediately if he does.
