I have learnt that weight loss is a simple formula: As long as the amount of calories burnt is higher than the number of calories eaten = weight loss Just wondering why when you exercise you are given ''additional calories to consume''?? sort of defeats the purpose of the exercise doesnt it (if the goal is weight loss..)

strength training & no calories burnt?
Hi all, I am new to myfitnesspal and have just entered my strength training completed for the day. Any one able to tell me why on cardio comes up with 'calories burnt'? Strength training does burn calories (of course in conjunction with cardio), just wondering why this wouldnt be included? Katie!
