If women can't bulk up, why the difference in reps?
I'm not trying to be obnoxious, this just occurred to me so I thought I'd ask. I know that women can't bulk up like men by lifting weights, but I also know that people say to max out at 8-10 reps for muscle building and 12-15 reps for toning. If women can't bulk up, then why is there a difference in reps? Thanks!

Need some lunch ideas
I'm good with breakfast, dinner and snacks, but I struggle at lunch with finding good things to eat. I don't eat breads, potatoes and starches a lot because they make me very tired, so sandwiches are out. And with it getting hotter, soups are out as well. Any ideas for fresh, healthy, whole-food options (i.e. no frozen,…

Stuck at this weight - help!
I've been doing P90X for 30 days now, and have been using MFP for about 15-20 days. During this time, I've only lost 4 pounds - I'm usually a person who loses 3 pounds/week when I put my mind to it. I'm not sure why this is different, but I just can't break through this plateau. I've lost inches definitely, but when you're…

Velveeta Light
I want to make that crockpot cheeseburger recipe, but I'm having a hard time finding Velveeta Light. I found the regular blocks, and special seasoning ones, but no Velveeta Light....where is everyone finding it? I have a Shaw's and a Hannaford near me.

How do they calculate daily calorie allotment?
I'm just curious because MFP has me at 1380 calories/day. I'm 5'8" and 224. However, I am a former athlete and while I am certainly "fat," I do have quite a bit of muscle on me still. My basal metabolic rate is 1790. Adding in moderate activity (I am pretty active daily) puts me at about 3000 calories, give or take, for my…

Should I eat these calories?
Hello! I did a P90X workout today that was a resistance workout. It's shoulders and arms, but it does make you sweat! However, my new heart rate monitor says I burned 770 calories in one hour of this workout, plus an ab workout (15 minutes long). I find it VERY unlikely that I burned that much, but I did burn some. I can't…

New here...hello!
Hi all! My name is Alle and I'm a stay at home mom in Maine. I've been overweight, very thin, and now I'm battling to not only lose about 60 pounds, but also be healthy and fit. I love to exercise, but food is always a struggle! I'm hoping to get this done, once and for all! I look forward to getting to know you all. :)
