Try black coffee with a teaspoon coconut oil in it I have found this more effective and way better for you than majority of pre workouts2 -

Carbohydrate releases serotonin (makes you sleepy) rather than avoid it at night avoid it in the morning, protein and good fats for breakfast = more alert mornings carbs in the evening = better sleep.3
