getting back into training and eating after illness

cut a long story short, I spent the weekend in hospital with my daughter, she had gastronenteritis and moderate dehdration so spend 2 nights in hospital on a drip, I was with her and also came down with the same bug although I was just treated in the emergency dept and then discharged so I could stay with my daughter in the paediatric ward (as a parent, not a patient) - I wasn't anywhere near as sick as my daughter was but I haven't eaten properly since Thursday. I ate nothing for one day, and the last two days nothing but apple juice, yoghurt and tea. I'm still not hungry, although I feel fine otherwise. I've lost 6lb and I'm hoping it's all just water and glycogen and not any lean muscle mass.

I missed last thursday's workout due to looking after my daughter, which was the 3rd workout in week 3 of stronglifts 5x5... I'm supposed to do the next one today but I know I'm totally glycogen depleted and blood sugar levels are low too (I am trying to eat though). So it does not seem like a good idea to train today. Plus I'm technically still sick below the neck albeit in recovery.

How do I get back into training again? i.e. get my strength back and when do I start back with the stronglifts, and when can I expect to be lifting the weights I was before I got ill? And what's the best way to replenish glycogen stores? I presume some of it is muscle glycogen and will come back after starting to train again? Should I just repeat week 3? i.e. go back to the weights at the start of that week and work up again?

Any advice welcome.

    Sorry to hear about your daughter (and you) being ill.

    I would redo the last week that you trained but ease yourself into it - if you feel off do not push it too much.

    thank you, that sounds reasonable. Also I'm thinking maybe I should work out mon wed fri this week, to give myself today to get some food in my system. I was thinking of possibly doing mon wed fri as workout days instead of sun tues thur for totally unrelated reasons anyway.

    I think you should wait and see how you feel on Monday before deciding anything.

    You are likely to have a rough workout the first one or two times into the gym especially after that kind of a bug. At the very least I would wait until you're a couples days into being back at your normal food intake levels.

    thank you... will bear that in mind.

    still not managing to eat all that much. I never thought I'd say this but I'm eating my kids' gummy sweets for my health LOL (easy to eat, calorie dense lol).... (I'm eating other foods as well)
