Last three days, 102, 118 and 96 today. Anniversary weekend in NYC with some of our daughters. Back to normal now I hope.

You can do it! When I was diagnosed, I felt like I had been hit by a truck or it took all the air out of the room or something. I got serious about the diet and started making progress.

Mine has been just under 100 most days since I last reported. Except for today when it was 115! I got woken up this morning by my mom’s alarm service calling to tell me her house had been broken into, and the stress showed right up in my bg! Fortunately my mom wasn’t at home and after breaking the door the burglar fled without touching anything when the alarm went off, so apart from having to pay to replace the lock everything is fine.

Just a little note to remind everyone, it’s not all diet, stress makes a huge immediate difference too! Cortisol blocks the action of insulin, and stress raises cortisol levels. You can’t always control stress, but if you can, it’s a good thing to keep an eye on.

. If you can get to some diabetes education classes, they can help you with this. From what I understand, in USA, a good nu,her before a meal is between 90 and 140. Maybe someone can correct this if I’m wrong?

Different doctors will tell you slightly different things. But ballpark figures: for fasting, you aim for under 100. 1 hr after a meal should be under 140. 2 hours after a meal should be under 120. But, basically, if you're higher than those numbers, don't fret. Make changes to your diet and lifestyle to try to get a little lower each day/each week. It won't happen instantaneously.

Good numbers everyone! Looking good. Mine was 103 yesterday. I forgot this morning. It was not my usual Saturday morning.

Good morning. FBS 7.2 (130). With my pancreas being a 'war zone' as my specialist says, for me, anything below 10 (1800 in the morning is good. Everyone is different, as you can see. I had a snack last night around 7 of apple and peanut butter. That's what raised it this morning.
    Have a good day everyone.

Interesting info I just found today on my University of Michigan patient portal account.

    HbA1C INTERPRETATION:
    4.2 - 5.6% Normal
    5.7 - 6.4% Pre-diabetes
    >=6.5% Diabetes

According to the American Diabetes Association, the target
HbA1C goal for patients with diabetes is <7.0%. Less stringent
treatment goals (e.g., HbA1C <8%) may be appropriate for
patients with a history of severe hypoglycemia, patients with
limited life expectancies, older adults, and individuals with
comorbid conditions. More stringent goals (e.g., HbA1C <6.5%)
    can considered in individual patients.
Diagnosis of diabetes mellitus should be established using a
    laboratory measured HbA1C and not a Point-of-Care HbA1C.
In the absence of unequivocal hyperglycemia, the laboratory
result should be confirmed by repeat testing for diagnosis.

87, only three days after a high carb meal.

Does anyone else eating low carb have this issue? My 2hr post numbers can be normal, but then my fasting numbers are raised for a few days after I indulge in carbs. Extra exercise doesn't help. If I overindulge on calories, as well as carbs, it is several days, even though I go back to low carb and calorie counting after just the one meal. I don't know if it makes a difference, but I am not currently on any medication. We will see what the doctor has to say about the results of that next week.

    116. I tend to always be in the 110-120 range for my fasting blood glucose. I consulted my dietitian, who specializes in diabetes education, as my numbers are higher than most other people who post here. She is fine with them. I am steadily losing weight, and my post-meal numbers are in the 120's, which she is also happy with. I do keep my carbs well below her recommended levels.

yay!! 101. I checked it two weeks ago and it was 137. (My test strips ran out and it was a fiasco between insurance/Dr/pharmacy to get the right srtip/meter combo)

I got good news today. Fasting BG was 92 this AM, but also my A1C is down to 5.3! I was dx in December with A1C 6.5. Then in May it was down to 5.9. Now it is 5.3. Keto/low carb is working for me. *happy dance*
