Intermittent fasting

Can anyone recommend some reading on intermittent fasting? I know very little about it, other than you eat all your calories within a certain time frame and it is supposed to burn more fat. I have always been drilled how important breakfast is, so I question it a little (but I realize how much else I have been told has been wrong!) Any personal experiences and what kind of work out do you do?

I never ate "breakfast" during the height of my weight loss and never had a problem. The idea of eating in the morning, for no reason other than that it's morning, is an artificial construct of civilization, society, culture - whatever you want to call it. One of the primary ideas behind paleolithic diet and fitness is to eat when you're hungry and don't eat when you're not.
As for resources on it:...
I like leangains:

And have read a lot of Mark Sissons stuff:

from what I understand, there are two schools of thought.
the first-- you eat in a window (say from 12-7 everyday. and nothing but water in the outside hours). -- i like this one better
the second--you eat ~ 500/600 calories 2 or 3 days a week and maintenance the others.-- this you would have to workout around workouts etc to keep moving
It works because it's shaking things up. but only if you maintain your deficit. It all comes down to calories in vs calories out. it doesn't matter what time of day you eat. it's how much you eat.
that's just what I know about it. may be right or wrong.
I'm a big google fan for answers. I would start there and poke around.0 -
from the little i read so far, I thought it was skipping a meal and not making up the calories once or twice a week.0
