One Year Ago Today, Job Offers, and New Clothes, Oh My!

In all my excitement of the job offer I received today I completely forgot that today is my one year surgery anniversary until now. I cannot believe that it's been a year. Wow!
To be completely honest, when I started this whole thing I daydreamed that I'd be at my goal weight at this point, and while I am not yet there I am 100% happy with my progress. I know I will get there one day. I am a much more confident, and most importantly a healthier person than I was a year ago aka 101.6 lbs heavier. WOW! That is awesome! I look forward to what the next year brings.
Other developments in my life...
I started looking for a job a little over a month ago. My daughter started kindergarten this year and it's all day, yay, and while I've picked up some temporary, contract based, super part time teaching jobs in the last few years I wanted something full time. Full time university teaching jobs are rare & highly sought after in my area of study, especially where I live, so I had to give up that dream and find a new one
... Find a full time job by the end of October in some kind of office setting with M-F day hours and a retirement plan. I have been a little worried about my deadline considering my criteria, but was doing everything I could to help my cause. Shiny, professional resume, great cover letter, and fantastic references.
I've applied for 20-25 jobs since I started and the job I was offered was my third interview. I'd also received a handful of "sorry, we hired someone else" letters, which was a bummer, but it happened!! I was contacted this morning and was offered the job! I will be going in on Monday to fill out paperwork and will get my start date then.
New Clothes
The job I got is professional especially for me. I'll be working in a law firm as a legal assistant. Crazy since I don't have any kind of education in this field, but they said they were very impressed by me and my knowledge during my interview.
I am an artist, and taught university art classes where I wore jeans, sneakers, and cardigans most of the time. I do have some nice clothes, but not many. So, today I went out and bought some outfits. I shopped in the regular clothing size section!! When did this happen??!?
The best part is that I was getting EXACTLY what I wanted. No choosing the "best" option from the slim pickings of the plus sized section. It's all adorable, too! I got two pairs of great pants, two nice cardigans, and two blouses. All which are interchangeable with each other and some of the clothes I already have. I just need to find a pair or two of nice flats to add to what I've already got and I'll be set for a while.
I am freaking out with excitement for some many reasons today ~ YIPPEE!!

Fantastic news! Happy surgiversary and congrats on your success! Not everyone hits goal the first year, depends on a lot of things, but I must say, I love your attitude! You will hit goal and probably sooner than you think! Great news on the clothes too! I work for a bank in the corporate offices, so I too have to dress professionally. It's so much nicer in the smaller sizes and so much more affordable too. Again, congratulations on all your great news!0
