Fun Stuff: Our Group Catchphrase

Like the logo, when I created the banner I did it quickly the morning the old group was deleted.

So, I'd like for all of us to collaborate on a new catchphrase..."the 5:2 fasting experience" isn't bad, but I'm sure someone out there doesn't really "dig" the groovy little 1970's Dating Game look/feel I gave it. The plan (if we are in agreement) is to allow users to submit their own backgrounds for the banner, and I'll add the group title (5:2 Fasting) along with our new catchphrase over the image...and then cycle it every 2 weeks or so.

Instead of doing this as a contest (like the logo) why don't we just bat some ideas around...if we narrow it down to a few at the end (and we can't agree) then we can decide whether or not to put it to a vote.

This is open to all, new users and old, don't be shy...

Just a couple of things: try to keep it clean (obviously) and remember that it has to fit in the banner and be readable, so something too long might be harder to incorporate.

Thanks

I think the logo is great! As for the catchphrase, how about the "5:2 Experience" just omit the word fasting.

I know something was said about "hope" also... taking everything posted into consideration maybe something like:
    The 5:2 Experience
(and under that in a smaller font)
    determination ∙ hope ∙ encouragement
    or
    determination ∙ hope ∙ support

I dunno, maybe too hokie? If we find the right words I can do a 5:2 logo with those words in a circle around it or maybe embossed in the background.

Not sure if the contest is going to get any takers, so maybe we can just collaborate on something. Then I'll do my best to put what we agree on into the logo/banner.

I like the idea of putting what we are all about under the logo. I would pick determination - hope - support. I did wonder about the word determination. Would people see that and think "a lot of hard effort"? I thought also about the word health since the basis of intermittent fasting is better health? What do you all think?

    support, hope, commitment
    hope, resolve, support

some other words...community, inspiration, knowledge, vigor, wellness, quality-of-life, fitness, nutrition

don't worry about me (my ego) either...I am used to my ideas being changed or thrown out (comes with the occupation), i'm just stoking the fires a little

Also another idea...for the logo or banner...a humorous slant
5 cartoonish devils and 2 angels (with bodies or just the heads), or just 2 halos and 5 sets of horns

How about "community - hope - support" that's how I see this group.

I love the idea of the devils and angels.......... sums my life up completely. haha

How about the word motivation - this is where I come when my motivation is waning!

I love the word community too - you guys are my 5:2 friends and the word resolve, cuz dang it I resolve to finally lose the weight and stay healthy as I approach 50!

    My thoughts :)

Support can fall under community...a sense of community
motivation is somewhat a synonym for resolve...so maybe...

    Community, Resolve and Hope
... or a twist on that, think big font little font
a COMMUNITY of RESOLVE and HOPE

Nice! With or without faith. How about a pic with fruits and veggies? Although the fall foliage is beautiful

I like the blue one! Then again I'm partial to blue. Will you change the background with the new seasons?

I think a lot of people missed this thread:
    http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/10006842/fun-stuff-our-group-banner

My plan is to have members submit their own background photos.

Since we are in the fall...maybe a cornucopia (lots of autumn colors) to start it off.

The logo isn't set yet, so that will most likely wind up in place of the "5:2" you're seeing now.

@orlcam - I am loving it! "A community of resolve, hope and faith" is beautiful. I know you are asking for pics, but I do like the one you picked. You can see the light at the end of the tunnel in the middle of the picture. Just wish the trees were green. Green is the color of life. But it is the fall season so maybe the fall colors would be nice for now. For myself, I liked the light green background for The 5:2 Experience because it makes the actual words stand out better. And I like the font better on that one.

I am wondering if we are called the "The 5:2 Experience" should we change the name of the group to match the logo? Might lead to some confusion if we don't? Please forgive me if you have already addressed this and I missed it.

The member submissions will cycle; depends on how many we get, but I'm thinking every 2 weeks or so. If not we can choose different backgrounds for each season and or for each holiday (the important ones) ...we're spread around the world though, seasons/holidays are different depending where you are.

Oh yeah...about the name...yes I agree, but if we pull "fast" out of the title will people find us? MFP still doesn't have the ability to search yet. It may be prudent to wait to see what their search functionality (search by name or description?) is going to be when/if they bring it back.

I def would prefer the word support to appear. Not keen on faith at all.

You gotta have faith!!! What's his name says so! :p

I have faith in myself that I will succeed with or without support.

I don't look at faith as having any religious undertones in this context...at least not in my case, but it may for some. Support falls under community I think...and hope can fall under faith, sort of generic terms many of these. So is it catchy...does it roll off the tongue? Hmmm...dunno.

I wasn't thinking of faith in a religious aspect.

    faith
    fāTH/
    noun
    noun: faith

    1. complete trust or confidence in someone or something.
"this restores one's faith in politicians"

Beachbody has "Decide Commit Succeed". I like that but we can't copy :o
