I'm guessing I can't be the only one with skin issues on here....since we are all special snowflakes ;).

I've had a life time of issues with shampoo, soap, moisturisers, cleansers, fake tan etc. With the products I have a slow build up to a reaction. First time I use a shampoo/moisturiser/whatever great, second time ok, third time...a little itchy. Until I get to the point where I can't use it anymore. I have a shampoo grave yard in my shower.

I've tried ACV and baking soda...and that didn't work. I've done the coconut oil thing. Even washing my face with water too frequently makes it angry.

I try my best to use natural/organic/paleo happy type products, but sometimes I have to go with what doesn't upset my skin. Currently using Sebamed shower oil (cos I can shave my legs with it and it doesn't dry my skin out). Eco store hand wash. Dior eye make up remover and toner (never had a reaction to these products and I have tried everything). And I've just ordered Sorbet Cosmetics (http://www.sorbetcosmetics.com/solid-shampoo/)shampoo, conditioner and moisturiser (which is solid) fingers crossed I don't have an issue with them.

So the question is what do you guys use for "sensitive skin".

I keep things very basic. Olive oil soap I get from a local company (Lavender Moon Herbs), Tate's shampoo and conditioner (Amazon), and Everyday Coconut lotion that I use for everything, even my face. If I get really dry I use coconut oil or raw shea butter on the dry patches. Biggest thing for me is sticking to diet that doesn't include allergens. If I eat anything I have issues with I see it in my skin.

I have sensitive/dry skin and can certainly relate to the slow-build up reaction.

These are the staple products I buy from Lush that I have not had a reaction to (so far)

Ultrabland Facial Cleanser: Made with almond oil, rose water, beeswax and honey. https://www.lush.co.uk/products/ultrabland

    Dream Steamer Tab

    Celestial Facial Moisteriser

    Brazened Honey Fresh Face Mask

I'm minimalistic. I don't wash my face with anything but water and only once per day usually (gasp!). I have terrific skin for my age. I use a natural coconut shampoo on the rest of my body but plan to try just vinegar and baking soda on my hair because a friend of mine with similar baby-fine hair like mine swears by it.

I don't use any cleansers, creams, etc on my face because they make my skin dry out or break out. If I have a pimple that is bad I sometimes use tea tree oil. Also, for an occasional refresher I will blot with witch hazel - maybe once per month.

For my face, I use the oil cleansing method (right now I'm using avocado oil w/ a touch of castor oil) about 2 to 3 times a week. The other days, I just get it wet in the shower. I do use commercial shampoo though.

I don't really do makeup or the heavy products. I make my everyday/usual stuff.

I make my own shampoo with castille soap and coconut milk (this recipe - http://wellnessmama.com/3701/natural-shampoo/), and wash with it a couple of times a week (in between, I just rinse with water).

I make my own soap that we use in the shower. Doing it this way, I can control everything that goes into it, where I get everything from, and how drying/moisturizing the soap is (and it's soap, not detergent).

I generally just use water for my face, but do the oil cleansing method sometimes, and will do an occasional honey or sugar scrub. The honey is just honey applied to my face and let sit for a while, then rinsed off (a good moisturizing/softening treatment). The sugar scrub is sugar and an oil (the batch I have now is olive oil, but just about any will do) for a nourishing exfoliant.

If you're having issues even with water, you might want to look into getting your water tested and make sure there's not something in it that you might be reacting to. Additionally, you might want to review what you've been eating and see if there's something that is making you more prone to such reactions (dairy, nightshades, etc). Some probiotics might help, too (balance gut flora, crowd out parasitic strains that might be adding stress to your system, etc).

I've been using the shampoo, conditioner and soap by a company called "shea moisture." the face wash ive been using is called ilike. I have worn make up 3 times in my entire life. I just never learned how to put it on...im 29!

The natural products (DIY) is a great idea! I made my own deodorant. search on pinterest for ideas how to make your own product.

I also only wash my hair every 2 to 3 weeks, even in the summer. I have VERY curly hair and washing it would only dry it out. There was a point where I washed my hair weekly and it destroyed it. Now it looks healthy and is happy.

I use unrefined shea butter as a body moisturizer throughout the year and a 1:1 mixture of avocado and apricot kernel oil on my face. My skin has really benefited from this routine.

For those who may be interested a post outlining uses of various oils as skin care products. All can be purchased on line and are very inexpensive.
