So yesterday I stubbed my toe on a kitchen stool. Didn't think much of it until later when. I tried to walk to school to get the kids and could barely walk. Made it home and checked my toe. It was purple and swollen. My dad (an ER doc) told me either a fractured the knuckle, or tore something, They both are treated the same way, tape it up, elevate it, and ice it. Only way to tell if it's broken is how long it will take to heal. Grrrr. So now I have to stay off my feet as much as possible. Less than three weeks to my race! Also, hubby is still sick so he can't help out as much with the kids either. Should be an interesting few days!
It feels a lot better this morning so I'm hoping it's just something torn and will heal quickly.
So no running or training for at least several days, so I'll just focus on making healthy food choices. I'm going out to eat tonight so I'll need to have some good willpower!

    Have a great day!

While kids in school cuddle up to a good book and get your mind off things for awhile, best medicine. Our thoughts of fear, anger etc make things worse as we tense up.

I stubbed my toe last winter and it took me long time to heal because I didn't relax at all I fought staying down.

I am packing today for 4 day trip. We are going to Camano Island for our anniversary. Staying with our travel club, nice couple.

It will be good to get away for a few days. Having a day of no rain today but ground and everything real wet. I am going to find my boots and go for my mini hike.

val, oh no! I agree with Marla...relax and get your mind off of it. Maybe have chamomile tea, which relaxes you and is an anti-inflammatory. Mainly, don't worry about it setting you back. Worry can't change a thing. Hope it gets better quickly for you.

    Marla, have an awesome trip!!

The threadstarter about being sore is spot on for me today! whoamamajama am I sore today! Guess my home workout yesterday did a little something (chest/shoulders/arms). Today, I left the kids with DH after son's school and took a walk downtown and did some shopping and back. Tonight while DH & son are at son's taekwon-do, I did a home workout like yesterday's, for lower body. Superset groupings 3x12 with dumbbells. Yikes! By the last superset, I actually left one set hanging. I was D-O-N-E! Which is unfortunate, because I still had a salad to make for dinner! Finally got the salad made, with lil girl's help. I doubt I'll have use of ANY of my limbs tomorrow. DH & son will be home in a few minutes.

Calories have been good so far this week, as has sleep. I feel like I'm on a roll this week!
