Good Morning, All!
I'm recommitting myself to MFP, exercise and diet! Yesterday went well and finished off with running to my trainer workout and back. The last two months have been a lot about the TRX bands at my workouts. This month, it seems to be the exercise ball. Boy am I sore! The one I found the hardest, and it crept up on me, was to lie on my back with the ball between my calves and my arms straight up in the air, then keeping my legs straight raise the ball to my arms, hold the ball while I lowered my legs then raise them up again and then take the ball down, then repeat. It was so easy at first and then got really hard as I kept doing it. The difficult ones from the start were the jackknife on the ball and the bridge on the ball. My abs need a lot of work.
Today is just to be a half hour run with Fells and to stay within my calories.
I got the Oatmeal's book on running last night and so I'm re-inspiring myself to get out there and just run.0 -
Not sure what day will bring. My husband was feeling sick yesterday and he's not up yet so not sure about my trip.
I am actually in a better place than normal. Usually I would be upset and freaked out, but I realized there's nothing I can do.
I am hopeful though!0 -
Hi Donna, great idea about making a formal recommitment. Those ball exercises sound effective. My next home workout this week will be back and abs, and although I *think* I know what I plan to do, if I get into it and it's not working, I might steal those exercise ideas. We always have the exercise ball in the living room. The kids bounce on it, I use it as a foot stool and also stretch over it. Funnily though, I almost never do a workout with it.
Marla, I really hope it works out for you and that he gets well super quick. Nice to see that you recognize how well you're handling it though.
Today I am sooo sore from past 2 days dumbbell workouts. omg.
So, sometimes when I take son to the tutor, we run 1/2 block to the busstop, b/c catching the early bus can positively impact the rest of our day. We did it today and it felt SOOOO GOOOOOOD!!! I dropped son off at tutor and had to do an errand, then I hit the park for a walk and to do my ankle exercises. Shortly in, my left ankle was feeling a bit sore. OH how I want to run sososo much, but this is just proof that I need to wait and keep doing the exercises. I'll also take him to taekwon-do tonight, so plenty of steps today. Resting from exercise, but I really neeed to do the stretching routine today, but haven't found the time yet. Still have to make first dinner, get the kids fed, get him to tkd and back, then handle 2nd dinner and bedtime. I guess I could try after bedtime.
Have a good one y'all!0 -
Valma I’m so sorry to hear about your toe! Hope it heals quickly.
Happy anniversary Marla! I hope your husband feels well enough that you're able to go on your trip.
Sherry I love those workouts when you really do go to failure, even though you might hurt for the next couple days. Great job with the food & sleep! Hopefully you can fit your stretching in today.
Donna I'm glad you're finding your groove back again!
I never checked in here yesterday. I'm more thrown off than I probably should be by how they hid groups away. I went for a walk at lunch with my friend & my boss asked me to run to the accountant's office to pick something up afterward, so I got in some bonus steps. In the evening I spent 45 minutes on my bike trainer.
Rest day today. Ho hum.
