Here are my favorite "secret" ingredients for eating whilst fighting a sinus cold!
- Soup, of course, but soup with taste - hot and sour, coconut aminos in chicken broth so thick it's jelly when cool, hot pot, etc.
- Garlic - in everything in large quantity
- Jalapeno peppers - if you do nightshades, again having something to taste is important
- Raw ginger - little coins of wow
- chili powder - good on a sore throat, as much as you can stand
- dark cocoa powder in hot water - cause you have to have something to put that chili powder in
- hot tea - no dairy, cause, mucus
- honey - I don't know about honey. The sugar isn't good but raw local honey might be OK depending on what type of sick you are (allergies vs bacterial).
- avocadoes - easy to eat on a sore throat and get your good fat in without mucussing yourself up
- meat meat meat - sick people need protein!

Bone broth specifically for soup. I don't find I can stomach meat when sick so maybe that's why bone broth is so recommended. I will sometimes go to fruit if it's the only thing I can stomach. Raw local honey would be a good thing in moderation. I have some royal jelly in a honey base but I keep forgetting to try it when I'm sick. I bet honey, ginger, garlic and royal jelly in hot water would be most excellent for illness!0
