i started doing this program in the summer and was into my third week when i injured my knee. Does anyone else have any tips on how to keep from aggravating my knee, I loved doing my runs and would love to get back at it.

I ice mine and take in profin afterwards. Hopefully the muscles will strengthen soon and they wont hurt.

To a large extent it depends on what the pain is, and how you did it. There are a number of different things it could be.

Similar principles apply as with other injuries; keep your pace down until your muscular systems and joints have adapted to the demands, progress at a reasonable pace, take a short, quick, pace and use shoes that are appropriate to your gait.

There are some benefits in doing some form of strength training alongside the running, bodyweight work at least, to help with the muscle development.

I generally wouldn't advocate icing unless there is an injury there, it doesn't serve any real purpose from a preventive perspective.

Do you have any history of leg or hip injury?

Have you been fitted for good running shoes? I was having knee pain until I got new running shoes.
