I loved yesterday's thread starter (the person who struggles hasn't quit). It's a good reminder for me as I continue to struggle with my eating. I will pull it back together.

Marla I'm glad that you went out with your friends & had a good time, even though your husband didn't want to go.

Valma your kids are adorable in their costumes!

Sherry I hear your frustration about running. When I was having problems with my foot this summer & had to scale back I really had a hard time mentally/emotionally with that, and I was still able to run. My trainer asked me last week if I had lost my passion for running and I told him to some extent I had to intentionally let that go because it was too hard to not be able to run the way I wanted to. I still want to run but it's definitely not what it was before and often I have to force myself to do it. I'm still in my "off season" and I trust that passion will come back when I start building again.

Friday morning I woke up feeling a lot better. Had a great session with my trainer. I had an eye appointment late afternoon then had to do some shopping so I didn't go swimming, but I had to drive back into town on Saturday for a hair appointment so I went early and got my swim in then. Last night I did a bike workout (intervals on my trainer). Today I've got a 5 mile run on the agenda (Jason said 5, then 4-6, so I'm aiming for 5).

Trying to get my house pulled together. It looks like a hurricane came through this week and left clutter everywhere. Being sick I just didn't take the time to pick up after myself. I was gone most of the day yesterday (after swimming & my hair appointment I went to my sister's for a family birthday party) but before I went to bed last night promised myself I would tackle the house today. It's 7:32 am and the laundry is done, dishes are washed, ad the recycling is hauled out, so I've made a solid start.

Marla - it sounds like you got to have a lot of fun!

Sherry - Living in Phoenix I don't get to have the fall colors either. I grew up in MN and so this time of year I miss all the apple picking, beautiful colors, etc. So I understand that down feeling you're describing!

Laura - glad you're feeling better! Good luck with getting your house back in order! I always find I feel out of sorts when my house is out of sorts. (I'm not clean, but I do try to keep everything organized so that I inow where things are).

Yesterday was not the best day food wise. But I did get my house back in order and took a little break. After running around nonstop for several days in a row it was nice. My younger kids were starting to have meltdowns I think from being overstimulated. We had a birthday party with family yesterday morning right after all that trick or treating...not to mention all the fall parties at school they had. Basically, we all needed a break!

All the craziness is over for a bit! Now I'm going to work on reigning in my eating even more. I'm trying to get to a point where I've cut the snacks out completely. I kind of want to reach a point that by the time I have my surgery I can use the recovery as a sort of detox. It's a slow battle, but I keep taking baby steps in the right direction. I'm also trying to deep clean the house and the yard as well before I'm unable to do much of anything.

    Have a great Sunday everyone!

Valma have I already asked you where in MN you lived? If so, I don't remember. I'm up in the Duluth area. Truthfully I hire someone to clean my house for me (she comes in every other Monday for 3 hours) so all I have to do is keep things picked up. I hate cleaning, I can afford to pay someone to come in, and that's how she makes her living, so I consider it a win-win all the way around. I can live with clutter for a certain period of time but then it starts to make me crazy. I like to start the work week organized anyway since my days tend to get long during the week.

Welcome (welcome back) DterMind2012! Several of us are struggling with various things right now, so an extra dose of motivation and enthusiasm is very welcome!

Welcome back! Yep, we're gonna OWN November!! Woo!

Hey all! Today I took lil girl for a walk thru Plaka, fine for Sunday. Back to getting my steps goal (4 x week) and cutting cals starting tomorrow, after taking time off last month to give myself some downtime for the ankles. I realize now that I gave myself all that time to heal and I'll be damned if I'm going to start running too soon and go back on the injured list. As much as I want to run, I WILL ease back in, by walking more at first and going from there. I just have to hang in there and have faith that I'll be back to normal some day. Faith faith faith. :)

    Have a good one!

End of the day welcome to determined....

I worked then got busy rest of day. Was watching this great documentary by David Burns on how the prohibition started and ended. I knew some of it but I learned a lot. Very interesting.

I had a great hike yesterday up in the hills, today too busy, tomorrow is my long work day so won't be exercising then.
