I switched over from a Nike+ Fuelband to a Fitbit Charge and I fell off the wagon for a bit (okay way more than a bit), but I just put it back on this evening and I'm looking for some motivation and support -- lots of it.

Bought my wife an I the Charge HR (black for me, plum for her). SO far we are liking them a lot, except I'm still getting used to the calories burned and budget, they both seem very high. I've only jogged for about 30 minutes, there is no way I've burned 3100+ calories today.
The 3100 calories is likely based on how many calories you have burned through the act of being alive, not just the steps. You will see what you have burned in steps if you have paired it with MFP. For example, my Fitbit tells me I have burned 3600 calories today, yet my steps burned 648 calories. Remember, everything our bodies do burn energy.0 -
Hi. I'm new to the group. I got my Charge HR on Friday. So far I'm loving it. I'm a little confused about the calorie adjustment, but I'm sure I'll get it. I read the posts on FAQ page but I still have a question. I'm going to use fitbit to record my workouts and MFP for food. Should I set an exercise goal in MFP?

I'm 45 years old and this is not my first go through with MFP, but hopefully will be my last. Lost a bunch of weight 2 years ago and then got out of the routine, so looking forward to starting up again.
