Past the one week mark

Whoo-hoo!

What turned out to be the strange thing (because it would be too easy for me to be "typical") is that they had to add saltines and heavier liquids faster than is on the schedule. Apparently, my new version of "hungry" is "nauseous."

But, I'm getting my water, protein and steps in. Still a little sore and taking the pain meds to sleep (which only works until they wear off), but I'm looking forward to week two.

I lost six pounds since the surgery but I'm not very happy about it because it looks to be mostly muscle from the body fat % on my scale. I don't want to lose muscle, although it was nice to zip up my boots more easily. I have, as one trainer put it, "freakishly muscular calves." If the muscle came from there, I'm okay with it.

Congrats on one week! It will continue to get better. It is hard to be patient but things will slowly work themselves out. Once you can add more exercise and strength training back, you will be able to work on rebuilding any muscle lost. And remember that the body fat % on the scales will be skewed if you are dehydrated. Good luck and keep with it!!

Great to hear! Everything changes pretty quickly in my experience. The next few weeks will be very interesting! Sip, walk, eat what you can!
