Any tips for Newbies

Hello,

I am very new trying to live a low-carb lifestyle. I have a 16 month old, and couldn't consume milk, eggs, wheat; due to his allergies while I was nursing. Now that I am (finally finished) I would like to re-add dairy and eggs, but still go easy on pastas, breads, etc. as I noticed that I felt better, lighter, maintained my weight (didn't really lose while nursing).

I have decided to attempt a low-carb lifestyle, but I have no idea where to begin. I'm four days in, any tips that will make this transition smoother?

    CM;

    First "tip" would be for you to spend some time reading through the numerous threads on this (and other) LC groups where many of your questions have been asked and answered.

    Not all threads are relevant (some go off topic or deal with specific issues not of immediate concern to "newbies").

    I'd recommend you check out this group as a start since it tends to be more active and deal more frequently with those new to the concept.

    Welcome. If you are considering low carb, I would recommend that you weigh, measure, and log all of your food starting right away. This is a great way to really learn how many carbs are in each food item.

    Do you know how many carbs you will eat per day? Just wondering how low carb you plan to go?
