Any June 2015 Moms?

Yay, @Jillsie11! I bet it does feel good to know that you're progressing. I go in for my 36 week appointment tomorrow and I'm hoping to get some good news also! Did they also do an ultrasound, or was it just an exam?0
-
Thanks! Yah, with my first I didn't dilate at ALL- even at 40 weeks pregnant, so this news was super exciting:) It was just an exam. At 36 weeks, they usually do the Strep B test, and so often they'll just check ya while they're down there:) I had a feeling I was making some progress, but there is still a long ways to go! We are almost there, ladies!0

Just had the Strep B test and they did check for dilation. Still closed up tight and I'm OK with that! Not quite ready for this train to start leaving the station...
No ultrasound, but that's OK since my husband couldn't make this appointment. She did feel my tummy and immediately said he's in the head-down position. I was surprised and asked about it, and she said - "definitely! his head is directly over your bladder, which I'm sure you've been feeling!" I asked if he's likely to move between now and D-Day, and she said it's pretty rare. Let's hope he stays that way!0 -
How is everyone doing?? Been pretty quiet here lately!!
Had my 37 week appointment on Tuesday and I was still only 1 cm dilated but cervix was softer. So I was somewhat disappointed by the lack of progress. BUT, I have been getting a lot of contractions lately and I really feel like it could be anytime- although, that MAY be wishful thinking.
Over the last 3 weeks my total weight gain has been.....-1 lb!!! So today I was doing some research, and a lot of articles said it's completely normal to LOSE weight right before the baby comes, which I had forgotten about! So we will see....can't believe we are this close!
How is everyone else? Feeling good and ready to have these babies?!0 -
Hi Jillsie! Sure sounds like YOU'RE ready!! Which is great! I am not... Finally finished the school semester last week, and still have two weeks of work left (I'm only taking off a few days before my due date) so I feel like I really need some time between school ending and baby arriving. Plus with school over for the summer we finally (FINALLY) have some time to prep for our incoming family member. Got the crib set up on Sunday. Saturday we had our baby shower, so we shopped over the weekend for some of the missing items we really need. I haven't experienced nesting, but then again I'm pretty obsessive about housework and organization ALL the time. Haven't noticed any increase, though.
Had a rough night last night! Between the potty breaks, upset tummy, heartburn, unable to find a comfortable position, and hubby snoring, I didn't sleep more than 45 minutes at a time. And I was only in bed for about 6 hours before I said "to heck with it" and just got up and going.
Anyone else having lots of tummy troubles now at the end of your pregnancy? I'm either constipated or the opposite (more of this than constipated). There is no in-between! I hear it's not uncommon, what with all the hormone relaxin in the latter months of pregnancy.
Congrats on maintaining your weight so well, Jillsie! I've gained a little more than I hoped for (@ 30 lbs) but I'm not going to beat myself up about it. Just going to watch it over the next weeks and make sure it doesn't balloon up to 50 lbs!0 -
Hello ladies!
I finally got some time to update you all about my baby situation. My runner girl made her grand entrance on May 22, 2015, at 6:13am EST.
Please welcome Anna Elizabeth, 5 lb 9 oz, 19.5 inches of pure joy She is my whole world! And her daddy is already wrapped around her tiny little finger
My labor was rather unusual...If anyone interested, I could share the story later.
I hope everyone is doing well! Your babies are almost here0 -
Congratulations, @Runningmischka! She is beautiful and so sweet0

Hi Ladies! This group sure has gotten quiet. Hope everything is well with you all.
My husband and I attended our labor & delivery class yesterday morning. Yikes. I didn't learn a lot, but it went into more detail and (since I'm now about a week from my due date) it definitely made things more real for me. I have been doing my best to avoid too much exposure to delivery horror stories, but I'm pretty overwhelmed today. Also had another OB appointment on Monday and pelvic exam showed that my cervix is softening but that's about it. Doc wanted to strip my membranes at that appointment, and now she's hoping to do it next week. Yikes again. Not sure I'm ready for all this!!!0 -
This group did get quiet, I hope everyone is doing well! June is here, ladies, so your babies are making their entrance very very soon!
My little birdie will be 2 weeks tomorrow. She is the light of my life! I must say, I didn't get this maternal connection to her right away. It took me a couple of days to realise she is mine, but I think that's ok. Now I cannot imagine my life without her.
Keep in touch, girls. Cannot wait to hear about your little ones!

Still pregnant over here!
When they told me I was 1 cm dilated at 36 weeks, I thought for sure this baby would be early. Now here I am, 4 days away from my due date, 2 1/2 cm dilated (as of Monday), 60% effaced, with no mucous plug left and I am STILL with child! This baby is a stubborn one, that is for sure!
Unfortunately, while I was doing really well still eating well/exercising up until a few weeks ago, I've lost all motivation lately. I'm still walking (to try and encourage labor), but my eating is out of control! Hopefully I can meet this little one soon and just get back on track:)
@NikkiSixGuns : Did you get your membranes stripped then at your last appointment or no? I've had it done twice now- with my last pregnancy it seemed to help get things moving. It hurts a bit tho, huh?!
@Runningmischka : Welcome your little one! You have to share your story- I love birth stories:)
Hope everyone else (who has been quiet) is doing well and finishing strong. Almost there! It IS JUNE!!!!!0 -
Hello all! Still pregnant here, too. Official due date is Thursday, but I'm counting on going over by a bit. Had another check-up this morning. To quote the doc, "His head is down very low, good... And the cervix still hasn't gotten the message.: LOL. So, unless things start picking up then I'll be induced late next week. I'm hoping that isn't the case. I'd rather he just comes on his own, but I guess if I have to be induced then at least we know what's happening.
@Jillsie11: no, I didn't have my membranes stripped because my cervix is still sealed up tight. Maybe next week... Hope you're doing well! How far over your due date will they allow you to go?
Still can't believe it's June 8th already!!!0 -
How are we doing, ladies? Anyn beautiful babies yet? I managed to keep mine alive for 3 weeks, woohoo!
Hope everyone is doing well!
P.S. I will share my birth story, I promise. Just need to get used to my new crazy routine0 -
Hey everyone! The waiting is over for us too....our little one decided to come on their actual due date (Tuesday). And our surprise baby was a GIRL- our third little girl to be exact:)
Water broke at 1:45pm, and she was born at 6:20. It went super fast, and I was able to have a natural childbirth as planned! Maizie June was 7 lbs 13 oz, and 20 inches long. We are all recovering well.
Hope everyone else is holding up!0 -
Congratulations @Jillsie11 I love the name, and she looks perfect! She is wrapped in the same blanket as my little one was, I wonder if all US hospitals shop for their blankets at the same place
Wishing you a speedy recovery!0 -
Congratulations, @Jillsie11! That is awesome news Great to hear you had a speedy delivery and it went as you'd planned. She is beautiful!! And I love the name, too. Hope you recovery quickly.
I'm still pregnant! My due date was the 11th, so not overdue by much. Husband and I have been taking advantage of these extra couple of days to enjoy pre-parenthood. Went out for ice cream last night then relaxed on the couch with a silly movie, and today we went to breakfast and we're about to go watch a movie at the theater. Not sure when we'll get to do some of these things again, so we're grateful that our little guy is giving us these extra days to just be a couple.
Hard to believe that the little guy will be here any day now! Life is going to change SO MUCH...

Hi ladies! I know it's been way too long, but I still wanted to post a quick update to say that my little boy arrived and all is well. He came 8 days late, which was OK with me. I never really did feel ready for him to arrive. But now that he's here... I'm pretty crazy about him.
So we were scheduled to be induced on a Thursday night a week after his due date. We showed up for our appointment only to wait for a couple of hours in the waiting room and then be told that they didn't have any delivery rooms available. They said we could stay and wait for someone to deliver (yeah, right!) or come back the next morning. We opted to go home and get some rest before the big day. Well... I went into labor at 2:15 the following morning! We went back for our induction appointment already in active labor. My contractions started at about 10 minutes apart, and by the time we left for the hospital about 4.5 hours later they were less than 4 minutes apart. Silly me - I was packing an ice chest with drinks and snacks for hubby and he was out front fixing a sprinkler. My mother in law kept yelling at us to get going. Hahahaha...
I had to have my water broken, and they discovered that my son had passed his meconium inside me, so they were concerned about that. They explained that they wouldn't be able to place him on my chest immediately because he'd need to be examined by an ENT specialist and may need treatment to remove the meconium from his throat/lungs. Then during labor his heart rate kept dropping really low, so they kept flipping me from side to side to reposition him. Right about 12 hours into labor his heart rate really tanked - it was below 60 bpm for two minutes. My husband and I heard it dropping on the monitor, and before we could blink the midwife and about 9 other people had run into the room and were putting oxygen on me, unhooking all my monitors, and wheeling me down the hall to the OR. They explained that his heart rate was continuing to drop, and they would have him out in less than a minute once we got to the OR. I was pretty freaked out and told them to do whatever they had to do to keep my baby safe. We got to the room so fast I didn't even have a chance to see if my husband was coming with us! In the end he was delivered via critical c-section and was just fine. His umbellical cord was wrapped twice around his neck and had been constricting with the contractions (they think) so it's a good thing they took him when they did. He was a healthy 7 lbs 6 oz and 20 inches. The meconium hadn't entered his throat or lungs, which was a big relief.
Now, two and a half months since delivery, it feels strange that I was ever pregnant and went through that whole experience. My son is such a joy, though also so much work! The first four weeks of being a mom was the hardest thing I've ever done. Now that I'm back to work it's gotten even harder. But I completely understand why moms say they would do anything for their children. I love him in a way that I didn't know was possible. He frustrates me so much sometimes, but I adore him. He's such a gift.
When I first learned I was pregnant I was very disappointed, sad, and scared. I still understand why I felt all those things - parenting is no joke! I knew it would be extremely hard and the life I loved would change drastically. But I had no idea how much laughter and love my son would bring into my life. He makes it all worth it. I know all of you know exactly what I mean.0
