Good morning group!! I'm new to opening things up so I thought by being a little inspirational and motivational would be a good way to start the day :) Hope everyone is well and that families and friends are happy and healthy!! Lets have a positive attitude today, lets stay focused and not let ANYTHING get in our way of being the healthy ppl we know we can be!!! We are strong and can say no to that cookie in the break room, no to the bowl of left over Halloween candy sitting on our coworkers desk, no to the voice in our head that says "you don't have time to work out it will be ok to miss today".....WE ARE STRONGER AND WE CAN DO THIS!!!
Hope everyone has an awesome day!!!

Great opener Dtermined! I am feeling motivated this morning, hopefully it will last throughout the day. I was quite disappointed last night, went to my exercised class only to find out that it was cancelled. So....I wasted my day, could have done something at home and didn't. Oh well. Run today.

Donna - sounds like a rough time you've had! Do you live in the Midwest? I only ask because one thing I didn't notice the first few years after moving to Phoenix was the state of the sidewalks. But then I had a kid, and she never had scraped knees until we went back to MN to visit. Then she kept falling. I realized that because of the climate, the sidewalks were a mess in MN. But the sidewalks in Phoenix were all even and smooth. All that to say, after hearing your story, I'm appreciative that I've not had to deal with uneven pavement. Knowing my questionable balance I would inevitably injure myself every few days. Glad your chin is finally healing!

Laura - hope you were able to get that swim in and the pool wasn't too busy!

Yesterday ended up going out to eat...twice. But I only went over in my calories a bit. Considering I was several hundred calories under yesterday, it kind of evens out. :). I have everything set for dinner tonight, so I shouldn't have troubles staying in my calorie limit.

    Have a great day!

Maureen that's so disappointing! Especially since you actually went there.

Valma I didn't realize only MN/cold climates the sidewalks are so bad, but it makes sense with the freeze/thaw cycle. I run on the side of the road because I'm afraid of the sidewalks. You did great staying close to calories after eating out twice. That's not easy.

My swim last night was good. Only 2 people in the pool when I got there (5 lanes). At one point all 5 lanes were full but it was emptying out again before I left.

Ate well yesterday, and every day is getting a little easier. If I can keep going all week hopefully I can get through the weekend unscathed.

Rest day today. My body hurts so I'm ready for a day off.

I live in Maryland. In the mid-Atlantic we get the varying weather, so we get the broken up sidewalks, but not as bad as the northeast or Midwest. There really is no reason that my neighborhood's sidewalks are so bad except that no one has bothered to fix them for so long.

Also, trees (roots) are a factor with broken up sidewalks.

Good luck with your run today, Maureen.

Sounds like you're going well, Valma! Great!

I got to my trainer workout yesterday evening. I ran to and from it without any incidents.

Today I ate my regular breakfast at home and then needed to go by the cafeteria at work this morning to check when they're giving out flu shots. It's from 2-4 pm today. So, while at the cafeteria, and still hungry, I caved and got oatmeal with cinnamon and raisins and a small bottle of milk. So had almost half my daily calories used by 8 am. Not the best start for the day!

So, when I would have normally gone to lunch at 11:15 am, I went outside and ran for a half hour and that used up my 45 minute lunch "hour".

My plan is to grab a snack, maybe a clif bar or some yogurt, when I go to get my flu shot at 2 pm. I have dog obedience class tonight, so will only have time to grab then too. If I have the clif bar at 2, I'll probably put a yogurt meal together for dinner. That should hold me until bed time.

Hope you're still healing well, Sherry, and things are going better for you, Marla.
Hope you're doing well too, April and Dtermined.

HELLO TO ALL AND I KNOW I'M YELLING I'M SO EXCITED I CAN'T STOP MYSELF!

I GOT A BLOODWORK REPORT AND 3/4 TESTS RANG IN THE NORMAL RANGE FOR THE FIRST TIME! I'm seriously over the moon about this! My glucose went from 93 to 84! I am thrilled! Cholesterol from 219 to 165!

My triglycerides are too high still but they went down 75 points! I still have work to do (damn you, bagel!) but seeing improvement is super motivating! Because THIS is why I want to be healthy: so that I can be a fit, active, healthy mom!

Donna, what an experience! Heal well! You don't have to tell me about bad sidewalks, I've been very lucky so far.
    April, congrats!!
    Hi to everybody else too!

No workout for me today. It was a teacher in service today, so no school, and well...I was just in a funk. Sometimes being an expat is hard. And being a resident of Greece, as an expat or otherwise, is very difficult right now, with the economic crisis. It just gets to ya sometimes, and today it did get to me, for the first time in a long time.

Anyway, took son shopping to get his lil sis a bday present for Friday and ended up in an area I don't usually go to and rather than search for a bus stop with a bus going our way, we started walking, til we found the start of the tram. Ended up getting plenty of steps and sons feet were tired. I had a little achiness in one calf towards the end, which is not bad considering I had flat shoes instead of my running shoes.

    Later!

    Congrats April!!

It's raining here and I am off to my nia dance class soon, worked in yard before rain came spreading bark. My husband and I decided to sell in the spring a few months ago but why he waited until all the rain to do this stuff??

I am working extra hours this month so treating ourselves to expensive whiskey dinner bistro downtown is putting on...can't wait!
